As everyone knows, Halo 3 and Reach had an extremely long lasting community which still stands to this day due to the custom game maps/ game modes created in forge. It’s also no secret that Halo 4 and the MCC died out rather fast because forge was mediocre and the file share system was a mess - although the MCC did have other issues.
Does anyone think that the H5 community will flourish as Halo 3 and Reach once did if in December, file share works correctly and 343i’s new found dedication to forge payoff and kickstarts the Custom games and Machinima community.
I still remember the days of Reach and 3 where I’d get invites for games on toilet or castle wars, I happily spent hours and hours playing those. I am personally an optimist and believe that 343i can pull it off and the community will certainly become more robust when new games release.
What do you think will happen and what did you love about the forge/custom games in Reach and 3?
I personally disagree, H2A had by far the best forge, though I will admit it was a shame that all the structure pieces were the exact same ones as Reach and 4. I liked Reach’s forge, though Halo 4’s snap tool would have made it a lot easier to create maps faster and more accurately. Though I’m sure a lot of people would disagree with me, I did not care at all for Halo 3’s forge. The controls were just too hard to get used to, and making a decent map was extremely difficult, but I still had some good times in 3’s forge mode, flipping over the elephants! xD

Obviously having a topic about “the best” is going to be hell opinionated haha The real issue that I found is the file share, it’s extremely hard to find any maps for H2A/MCC -especially the mini games.
The new forge will be, far and away, the best forge yet. That said, we disagree on the power of forge as being game-making. Halo 4 forge was perfectly fine but couldn’t save the game. H2A forge is epic. But there’s no force on earth that could save MCC. Forge has to be there and it has to be right, but that isn’t even close to enough to make the game if it has other problems. The good news is that, as far as I can see, Guardians has no other significant problems.

Yeah! Right now Guardians is relatively clean for a game on launch. As I said before, it depends how easy/hard it is to find the maps we want or may like.

Yeah I definitely do miss file share/browser. It gets frustrating trying to find good maps on YouTube then having to type in the gamertag and search for the map. Hopefully Halo 5 will have fileshare, there’s really no reason why it shouldn’t.
