Deaths of noble team

All but Kat and emile had unnecessary deaths. Anyone else notice that.

Yeah, it kinda seemed like Carter crashed the pelican for no reason. Noble 6 and Emile could have easily just run quickly to the other cave before the scarab shot them, i mean they just drove right under two of them on a mongoose like 5 min before.

There was a lot of blood in the cockpit, which makes me think Carter was already severely wounded and on his way out; he knew he couldn’t reach the evac point for medical aid in time and he decided to make his death mean something.

I laughed however when Kat died.

She finally shut up!

Emile’s death made me mad, like use your radar nub.

Given that Emile had just unleashed the hurt on two Zealots, you would think he had his eyes on the prize…

He was badly wounded, had a damaged Pelican and was drawing fire from Banshees. I would say he made a just sacrifice.

George died for a reason, if it was not for his sacrifice then that huge covenant ship would have survived and caused some major pain for the UNSC (Keep in mind that they were unaware of the huge fleet at the time, to their knowledge this was the only ship until the rest showed up).

Kat’s death was pathetic however, she died in an almost hilarious way compared to the rest of Noble Team.

Carter died to ensure that you would deliver Cortana (And effectively win the war), he was pretty much dead anyway from the looks of it and he knew it so he went out with a bang instead of a whimper.

Emile may have been stupid enough to die in the way he did but he also went out fighting, he killed two of the most feared elite types in one go but went with him. His death may have been preventable, but it was sure as hell better than Kat’s.

Noble 6’s death was incredibly sour, they could have escaped but instead they decided to create a distraction so the pillar could escape. Depending on how well you can hold of determines how heroic 6’s death was but not how important it was, even if you fail to kill a grunt or just blow yourself up you still saved humanity anyway.

And I don’t even know what happened to Jun.

Not sure if its cannon or not, but there was a comic about what happened to Jun, and if I am remembering right we STILL didn’t see him die! The Comic was called fistful of arrows (referencing juns tattoo) and it was awesome. It’s free and well worth a read.

What I liked about Kat’s death was how sudden and shocking it was; you saw the others coming from a mile away, but Kat never had a chance. It adds a touch of realism to the game because let’s be honest; as a soldier, even a supersoldier, you don’t always get a heroic death and you don’t always see the shot that gets you.

Jun’s survival of Reach is canon and he went on to help establish the Spartan-IV program.

Carter was wounded before crashing the Pelican, Auntie something (the A.I) was talking about “Carter’s status being bad” or something. Jorge had to manually blow the nuke (it immediately blew up after Jorge walks back and presumably blows the nuke). Noble Six died because there was no way off Reach after he stayed off of the PoA, if he didn’t shoot the cruiser with the MAC the Autumn would have blown up.

kat’s death seems more an error of history if you see the cinematic wonder what happened to the shields

Perhaps the “atomic disturbance” popped them? Although she had only just put her helmet back on, maybe Spartans with no helmets also have no shields?

Really? Sweet where do we find that out?

Halo reach was amazing though I’ll give it that.

I think the only one who’s death wasn’t warranted was Carter. Emile got careless and stabbed by an Elite, Kat was just sniped, pure and simple, Jorge needed to remotely detonate it, and Six… well I’ll admit he could’ve tried to find a way off Reach (he needed to man to guns so the Pillar of Autumn could escape). But then again, how long could he run from glassing?

Couldn’t he just sneak aboard a ship or steal a phantom and hope for the best ?

I assume he was emotionally dead after watching his friends dying and lost the will to survive, instead choosing to take as many of the covenant as he could with him.
