Now, I saw this on FactPile, and felt that a majority of the people there are just innate Halo-Haters who have little to no knowledge of anything Halo, and automatically assume the other side wins.
Death Star (Star Wars.) Vs Halo.
People say Death Star wins mainly because it can operate without a crew, and can fire a death ray that destroys Halo in one shot.
Same circumstances as in the Factpile engagement.
the Death Star is well within firing range of the Halo…
Now, we don’t know EXACTLY how far that entails, but let’s just say, in solar system.
Here’s how I think it would go down.
Halo Fires a Tactical Pulse that wipes out the Death Star’s crew completely, save for the droids and other non-biological intelligence.
Death Star begins charging it’s laser.
Halo Mass produces Sentinels and Enforcers, leaps into Slip Space before Death Star can fire.
Death Star is picked apart by a billion sentinels.
And even if that DIDN’T work, the Halo could just eject parts of continents or sections of the ring at it.
extremely short fight, if you ask me. Original FactPile Match up, discussion makes me lol at the Ignorance.
P.S. Second to last comment says Master Chief would get killed by a Squad of Stormtroopers.
That’s like Mike Tyson losing to 6 8 year olds.
> What about the ‘Crucible’ from Mass Effect series ?
Space Magic doesn’t count
The Crucible cannot be considered anywhere near realistic, both in our world or in a Sci-Fi expanse, unless we’re jumping into the science fantasy.
A Death Star? Yes, I can see how a really big laser can work.
A Halo? Sure, a purge of sentient organic life.
A Crucible? A Magical device built by people who didn’t even understand what it did, has an unknown interface with an ancient space station and Reaper collective AI, is able to deal multiple solutions as well as make machines organic, and organics machines?
Don’t buy it. The Crucible isn’t a Sci-Fi weapon of mass destruction, it’s an example of terrible writing and a stupid plot device.
You are right that most other sci-fi fandoms are extremely aggressive and lash out at HALO. This is because HALO is the evolution of a sci-fi fandom. More kids today know HALO, than they do Star Wars, or Star Trek. Halo is already a multi-billion dollar franchise, it has been hailed as the next Star Wars, the next, epic space opera. And older fans of these other franchises are foaming at the mouth because they, along with their franchise, is getting old. Sad, but true. And I love Star Wars (just not the altered blu-rays).
The Crucible isn’t a contender, both the Death Star, with its laser, and an Installation, with its defensive Sentinels, would wipe out the Crucible. Why? Because Shepard wouldn’t be able to make a decision fast enough, he’d have to check the walkthrough for every variable to make sure it was “right”.
I’ve never heard the Death Star could fire on its own, taking into account the movies, it has a human weapons crew, and takes time to get in range. Halo does not have that problem, all seven could be fired from the comfort of the Ark, and wipe out the Death Star’s crew before that moon was even in range. I really don’t see how this is a logical versus. lol
The Death Star can be operated by an AI in its system.
Halo had several types of defenses, including hard light spokes, sentinels, being able to lock part of the ring in time to become essentially invulnerable, it has certain turrets of unknown power. They can move.
