As we know cortana is about 7 years old.(forgive me if im wrong) which then I believe Dr.Halsey states that a smart A.I will eventually degrade itself from existance. this my friends may be the last time we see cortana. As for master chief he’ll most likely be alive through the next 3 game sequals. (343i is just getting started my friends)

Jokes aside, serious face on, it’s going to be very interesting to see how 343i handle Cortana over this Trilogy, i’m expecting rampancy but either way hopefully a twist or two 
An average life of a “smart” AI is 7 years. At the end of H3 she was at 7. At the start of H4 (another 5 years) she is 12 years old which is crazy for an AI like her. She will most likely go rampant and I bet you that chief will have to kill her. Or shell sacrifice herself in some way, shape, or form.

I would assume that those 7 years involve the ai being active. I would hope that she would go into “sleep mode” or the futuristic smart ai equivalent during the time she and the chief are floating in space, possibly negating those 7 years down to a few months. Im sure that 343 will find a way to extend her life through the next 2 1/2 games before they kill her off in the middle of Halo 6.

Cortana was made is 2549. Chief went into cryo in 2552. Isnt she only 3? Chief has been in cryo for 5 years. Meaning shes 8 in halo 4.

thats all wrong, she was 4 by the end of halo 3 or approaching 4, halo 4 is five years later so she will be 9 at the oldest
they will find a way to increase her life in halo 4. trust me, they will not kill of a main character like that at the beginning of a trilogy
