death aniMATIONS (HALO 3 --> HALO 4)

one thing that really gave me the badass feeling in halo 3 was the death animation of the spartans when i got a headshot on them with the sniper rifle

it really looked like they just got a massive chuck norris fist to the head (or something)

now look at these reach ones:

the snipe death animations are always the same, and they look as if the victim waits till he thinks he’s dead and then decides to make a half backflip… (the mid-air snipe backflips in halo 3 looked cool somehow)

i think it looks really weird…
i know this is a minor point but really liked it in halo 3 and i also don’t wanna hate on reach but still…

what do you guys think?

There’s like… 2-3 death animations you ever see in Reach, and it’s annoying as hell.
They need to be more ragdoll-like than set animations.

that’s what i meant! i love the ragdoll deaths, not the animated ones… excep the facepalm one but u see it too often in swat…

Halo 2 had the best death ragdolls, especially when it came to sniping.

i love them!

never played halo 2 multiplayer but both halo 2’s and halo 3’s are amazing!

This.

Can’t say I’ve noticed any of this at all.

I was just talking about how I would love to see these animations return in Halo 4 in a thread last night. I loved how if you timed it just right where you headshot someone right when they jump, they can manage to do a complete backflip. It made your kills that much more satisfying.

Here’s the thread

Haha I remember the “rag dolls” in Halo 2 would occasionally -Yoink!--out for a second after hitting the ground. XD I think Halo Reach had good rag dolls, but they’d make unrealistic movements with their bodies frequently (as if they had no bones or joints.)
