Dear Everyone and Especially Content Creators: Please quit Spreading Disinformation about Halo Infinite being shelved

I’m back, again, because there’s a tsunami of disinformation in regards to Halo Infinite and it’s future and this plague is making it’s way throughout youtube like CRAZY.

Halo Infinite is going nowhere. The Unreal Engine 5 Upgrade does not mean Halo Infinite is shelved. The Unreal Engine 5 Upgrade not mean new Halo games are being made. Again, people, Halo Infinite is the Halo Game, it’s literally written in the title of the game. Nowhere is it written and nowhere has it been said Halo Infinite will not be making a port or re-creation under Unreal Engine 5, which is VERY likely what is going to happen. It’s not even confirmed from the horses-mouth in regards to what is going on with Unreal Engine 5 and Halo either.

Stop the disinformation because literally everyone who is aware of it, Halo Infinite was promised a 10+year life. Creating a new Halo Game with a new title would obliterate 100% of the integrity behind the Halo name, which is awful for profit therefore it’s WAY MORE LIKELY Halo Infinite will be merged into Unreal Engine 5.

promised things means not if its true at all since 343 has more a track record of making false promis’s to us.
and here are some promice there have fail all to make true all from last year.

the split screen Co-Op was one off then.
the campaign expensions was also one off then.
and now the 10 year life cycle is a other one.

If they want to combat disinformation, they need to release actual credible information, it always works. 343 studios coming out and saying the game is going nowhere and will be supported, is fine, but people aren’t stupid.

People can see with their own eyes that this game has not been supported, portions of the game being cancelled, nothing of consequence being fixed, and it’s been this way since launch, road maps to nowhere is another thing that is unacceptable.

Adding game modes that 85% of the player population unanimously dislike, makes it clear, 343 is disconnected from the reality of the state of this game, either they are not involved with this game anymore, and it just runs on autopilot, or they don’t care.

As someone who has created a business plan or two in my life, I can honestly say, I don’t think 343 ever had a coherent strategy, or proper business plan for this game at any point in its development, I have seen and read nothing to make me think different.

I agree infinite is not going anywhere, the game is only a year old they are not abandoning this game already. I think we can probly call whatever tatanka is more like a expansion for infinite and not a replacement, I’m sure the 2 games will be linked in some way

Naw, 343 has done this with all their games so far. They’ve started over from scratch three times in a row now.

Nothing is crazier than a person thinking a developer would spend time redeveloping a dead game into a new engine. It’s not like they can just export Infinite to a text file and import it to UE5. They literally would have to start from scratch. No, future projects may well be built with a different engine, but Infinite is going to stay on Slipspace.

If it wasn’t, 343I would do a reassuring announcement.

It won’t be shelved. We will just get an extremely slow drip of whatever was already in the pipeline. I wouldn’t expect anything that’s a game changer. Obviously they won’t just shut down the servers. They will try to get the best return on the money they’ve spent already and try entice players to keep buying store items.

How bout instead content creators mod the upcoming Starfield game with a halo mode

Tatanka is already sounding like its own entity because its on UE5. Halo Infinite will be done here in about a year or two

I don’t think so tho, it sounds like they are starting UE5 with tatanka, I’m sure that will be a test run to try n port over infinite to UE5, I just don’t see them not supporting this game anymore. I think both titles will co exist

I am in the hopes that my Studio-117 prediction is going to be the case, especially given that Joseph Staten was moved to Xbox Publishing Studios rather than just leaving 343 Industries.

So while 343 will continue development of Halo Infinite, doing what little they can with what staff they have to fix the game while putting out “content”, Joseph will probably be putting together a replacement studio to be announced within the next two or three years that will take over development from 343 while all remaining staff members will be given the option to be integrated into the new replacement studio or to go their own way if they so wish.

Content creators for a game have to make something.

Infinite hasn’t gotten a lot of meaningful content in its first year. And the big stuff its gotten are currently still in beta and/or kinda buggy.

What other content is there to make for Infinite BESIDES chasing rumors at this point?

I don’t think Halo Infinite is being shelved so to speak BUT it’s not going to be the ten year platform as originally planned. If I could tell 343 anything it would be this… Look you guys nailed the game mechanics, the majority seem to agree with this, the movement, equal starts, and equipment pickups… Now all you truly need is #1 a stable game engine #2 a more fair progression system #3 get rid of “live service” #4 way better and more diverse multiplayer maps,. Making sure btb maps are actually vehicle friendly,. #5 take the campaign back to a linear game with diverse missions and engaging story line… Recent even going back to H4 and H5 campaigns, if you dismiss the stories (not so much H4s)… But just look at the missions and environments they blow infinite out of the water by a long shot… Wanna hear my cheesy way to fix the story… Go back to the beginning of H4 where Cortana is waking Chief and she is telling him about how rampancy is setting in… Then he says so you didn’t start a big war and call in guardians? She then can say no… That was just a dream for my rampancy… But if we get back to Dr.Halsey she maybe able to fix me… Then Chief starts the hunt to get back to Halsey who is with the Covies… Before all the events of H5… Then maybe Chief can have that boss fight against Jul… Maybe we can ease into the members of Blue Team and Team Osiris… Cheesy but maybe a way better “reboot” than Infinite. :slightly_smiling_face:

It wouldn’t be the first time 343 had to do this.
Halo 4 had planned to have 3 years of post-launch content. But since the playercounts dropped to barely 20,000 online daily for the last few months of the first year of the game being live; they had too few players to actually make the profits from DLC outweigh the development costs.
Seasons 2 and 3 of Spartan-Ops were scrapped, their stories instead told in the comic book of Halo Escalations.
Likely 8 more map packs and 2 or more cosmetic packs were cancelled.

However this time it seems to be an issue of development rather than the intentional design of teh game, because as you said @LethalQ

The issues are not the intended gameplay mechanics but rather the peripheral systems that are needed to support a match.

and not forget that talking bad about the game is also there are doing since there is sadly notting goods at all to talk about it at all from the game anymore.
now yea there was almost notting good to talk about the game at all in the first place.

so what the OP is doing by blaming the content creators on youtube is compleet wrong.
since there is notting good at all to talk about since the game is compleet broken at all.
what he most do is what we all are doing now more by blaming 343 for making a big mess from the game.

Gotta love people yelling about “disinformation” while making absurd predictions that Infinite is going to get “ported.” Utter nonsense.

Not to mention the whole “10 year plan” was mentioned once by the Chris Lee who left almost immediately after the embarrassing E3 showing.

You don’t typically gut the team responsible for a product you consider to be successful with a bright future ahead of it.

Its obvious to anyone with sense that the games days are numbered if they are indeed going ahead with a new engine. No one is going to waste time trying to recreate Infinite in a different engine which would require just as much effort as building a new game entirely to being with.

Are they going to suddenly cut all support for Infinite and delete it off the storefront? Of course not, but I think anyone expecting that Infinite is going to get the still huge levels of support needed to bring it back up to the standards of earlier Halo games is in for a rude awakening.

I expect Season 4 to be the last one that adds developer made content. After that they’ll focus on highlighting forge maps and user made content. The main team will move on to the next project.

when this game gets shelved in favor of whatever’s cooking in certain affinity, let me be one of the first to say that this did not age well

Doubt it. 343 is incapable of porting to a new engine without screwing up hard
