Dear 343i,
I have been with Halo and its community since the begging and I will always be here until the end. After a long while thinking, and supporting (Most) of your actions for Halo 4, Master chief Collection, and Halo 5. I would like to tell you a couple of things from both a community standpoint and a Die Hard loving halo fan. First thing I would like to mention is there has been a consistency with your company releasing halo games and there being major problems after launch. For Example when Halo 4 launched there where many server issues (Which is understandable) and many in balances in which you guys made patches for (Which is fine). Another example is when the MCC (Master Chief Collection) launched, there where many many problems, Matchmaking issues, Campaign issues, Custom game issues, Forge issues, etc. A lot of these problems through out those two games are understandable and gladly you fixed (Most) of them. Even to this day there are still issues with MCC but that’s for another topic.
As you imagine when you released Halo 4 with only Spartans on matchmaking, you got much hate from a large portion of the community. Your reasoning for this is very understandable… Except for the fact, you could have made another mode kinda like invasion. But again that is for another time. I want to see what is best for the community and the company. I also know that I don’t speak for the whole community and many will take me as just some kid.
So back to the point, I recently heard you confirmed that Sangheili AKA (Elites) would not be playable in Halo 5… Personally I believe you are making a HUGE mistake! You are guaranteed much hate and I know many people that may not even purchase H5 because they see it as another Halo 4 basically. With the whole Arbiter returning and Chief going AWOL I believe this would be the perfect time to bring Sangheili back. You could possible have a standard custom games in which its the Sangheili with Lore cannon war gear/Abilities and Spartans with there new upgrades. Maybe have mixed species team or Sangheili (Elites) Vs Spartans. Another possibility is have all variants of Elite armor not the garbage that was used in MCC multiplayer for Halo 2 anniversary. For example the standard storm elite armor or the standard combat harness the “Minors” would use, nothing to fancy but nice good looking armor.
If you truly are a community loving company you say you are then please review this and maybe even respond. After all Sangheili (Elites) are a major species both friend and foe through out the franchise. But please for the love of the franchise and the love of the community… Don’t let Halo 5 become like other FPS games (Not saying it is) but please… Be the company the community and the franchise needs.
Regards- A loving long time community member and franchise lover.
Because multiplayer skins (which is pretty much what playing as an elite is) make or break a game?
I don’t see why someone would not buy the game because they cannot play as an Elite. Literally if they made it fair with Elites and Spartans…Then they would be nothing more than a different skin. Which…Why?

He’s not the only one but perhaps it can be added later as DLC.
Bringing in elites would cause way more problems and complaints than leaving them out, 343i has made a good decision keeping them out of at least the multiplayer playable character aspect of things. And totally back up 343i with this smart business decision.
Not to talk trash or anything, but I feel that you are just asking for too much for a company trying to bring the Halo franchise back from a downfall. And bringing elites is just going to hinder that, at least at the moment.

You don’t understand.
It is not just the fact that the elites aren’t playable…again. It’s the fact that 343 (it seems for now) don’t listen the community! By excluding the elites again is like they said “we don’t care much about that part of the game! Most people love playing like spartans not aliens, because in the mp most of the players are spartans, not elites”.
This is a missed occasion for 343 to enter in ours hearths. In this Halo elites are out. OK. What is next? In halo 6 343 is going to cut off theatre (just an example!)?
It’s the same mistake of H4 and they said 2 or 3 years ago that they won’t repeat the same mistakes. Last famous words…
First local co-op is out for campaign and now (as it seems) elites!
Just because they do not add everything that the community wants does not mean that they do not care about this community. I get it. People want elites. But it is not the end of the world if they are not included.

Because there are female gamers out there? Last I checked Elites are not a real race of beings who play Halo.
Just because they do not add something does not mean they hate their fanbase. They are not ignoring you, I am sure they have heard your point of view and simply have not added it due to balance reasons or cannon. I am not totally against elites being in multiplayer, and I feel bad that people that do want to play as them can’t so far, however I would rather the game be balanced and have hitboxes that function than having bullets go through their necks.

Lets look at the statistics of copies sold real quick,
Halo 2- Roughly 8.94 Million
Halo 3- Roughly 11.87 Million
Halo Reach- Roughly 3.3 Million
Halo 4- Roughly 8.93 Million
Halo Master Chief Collection- Roughly 1.04 Million
Just from that we can compare and infer about some where more popular than others. Also on various forums you can see polls and votes on people who want and enjoy Elites in multiplayer. On almost every poll and forum that makes these claims after much adding and calculating you get and average of 73.8-84.3% of the voters want Elites back into multiplayer and enjoyed them in the games that did have them i multiplayer.
Asking for a major component to both the halo lore and franchise to come back is not “Bringing down” the company. Also there is a whole community of hundreds of thousands maybe more of people who either role play, make videos, clans and just enjoy elites that are being let down and basically ignored. So if anything it is a bad business decision. Look at all the hate 343i got from Halo 4 from just not having Elites in multiplayer.
Explain how Elites are a problem in matchmaking? Yes they are larger, yes they are easier to spot… But what is the fun in a perfectly balanced unchallenged game? Sangheili are vital in both lore and community because they have always played such a big role. There are even polls and request of over 70% of asked people who even want a Covenant Only view of Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo Reach. I have stood with 343i but every launch so far has not been very successful and its obvious what they are doing wrong but they are not listening to the community. There listening and taking advice from a few popular channels/people.

Please make a case on how Elites will make the game unbalanced? It would be totally cannon for Elites to be in multiplayer for many reasons,
1-UNSC and Swords Of Sanghelios do military training exercises together (Cannon)
2-UNSC and Swords Of Sanghelios have shared technology (Cannon)
3-UNSC and Swords Of Sanghelios fight battles together (Cannon)
4- Human and Sangheili shared colonies have arisen (Cannon)
5- Sangheili have begun making certain variants of spartan armor (Cannon)
Now I am not saying your wrong, yes there are some things that must be reviewed about having elites in multiplayer but all of which can easily be fixed.

Yes, Because clearly the reason some games did not sell as well was because Elites were left out. While I personally do not care if they are added it in the end is not a community choice. But the devs choice. I will state again though that just because they do not listen to people on this topic, does not at all mean they do not listen to the community overall. There may be some reason we don’t know about.
I can almost gurantee you though that it has been talked about by them.

Oh god! Are you serious?
everything the community wants?? Elites are in every single halo since H2!! 343 just cut them off without reason! It was something already there!!
You are right my pal when you say it’s not the end of the world. That’s fine. But i repeat: It is the fact that they cut them off without reason! Why?? This is bad for 343. It’s all about the feedback they received in the last years and they screwed up with this! They knew that people love elites!
Aaaahhh good days when Reach came out with invasion!

Warzone looks to be 100x better than invasion.
And they have a reason for not including Elites. It breaks their canon for multiplayer. Do I agree with that? Maybe, maybe not. But again…The world wont end and Halo wont die because elites are not included. Clearly they are not included in the Warzone game type. But that is seperate from the other game modes. So it is entirely that they will be included in those. Maybe not at launch. 343i has not mentioned it. At the Rooster teeth panel it seemed like they misunderstood the answer given.
Dude… I don’t mean to be rude (your entitled to your opinion, and have the right to be upset about this stuff), but if you won’t buy the game because elites aren’t playable… that’s really unwise… Although your post seems not to point in this direction. so good for you.
The main problem with elites is the hitbox and where their stupid head is (and the size). It’s not good for balance and competitive play. It’s not a huge issue really. I understand the nostalgia factor (we all have something), But please keep in mind that it’s probably for the best.
