Dear 343i,

I am completely for the idea of a ranking system that accurately matches you up with players of similar while keeping the status of your rank private.

This seems like a very logical idea, in my opinion, because…

  1. The basis of a ranking system is to match players of similar skill.

  2. There is no logical need to have your rank shown if you can personally see it yourself.

  3. If people are not able to see other peoples ranks they won’t feel superior or insecure.

I ask that you please stick with this idea and implement it.

343 has not confirmed this its only a rumor. All frankie said was the 1-50 wasnt coming back. Skill will be invisible and only used to find matches and has no relation to your progression rank that isnt invisible

Frankie was the one who said it to begin with, please link me to something that says 343i confirmed it to be a rumour?

So I’m not allowed to see my friends rank, I’m going to have to ask him individually for his rank in each playlist to see if I am of a similar skill level to him?

I’m ok with a progression rank being visible.

None of this is as big of a deal as people are making it. I just want to ask 343i personally to stick with this idea.
Many people who are against this do not seem to have a logical reason for why they are against it other than the obvious underlying fact that their ego will be severely bruised.

And that’s just silly.

I think friends should be able to see what level each other is, but as far as any one in general, it should be hidden.

I have different feelings about this… I sorta agree with this, but at the same time I want to know other peoples ranks… In the end it won’t really make any big difference the game, and I’m sure 343i will do what they think is best for the game :slight_smile:

You seem to have completely ignored my point, and the fact that if I beat a player, I want to know if my win was well deserved, not the fact I just beat three low levels and one high level.

Invisible ranks once again are a horrible idea.

I could care less about rank, for those that want it and with 343i’s intentions (if true)

The only thing i can really think of is to keep the ranks hidden in the pregame lobby so no one knows what they’re up against.

Once the game ends and the player is in post game lobby, show each players rank.

Then they can brag about how big their rank is and how the others suck…and feel better about themselves.

Agreed make it so once in a matchmaking lobby your rank goes bye bye but otherwise you and your friends can check it out

Let me ask you a question…,
If your friend ends up being on a higher or lower rank then you for various reasons will you refuse to play with him?
