Dear 343i, PLEASE let Future Campaign overall design, variety, color palette, and biomes be ( Mostly ) based on the style of your Concept Artist "Ruan Jia"

For those of you who haven’t seen their AMAZING work on Halo Infinite, here is a link to their Halo Infinite Concept art. This INCEREDIBLE art is what I EXPECTED Halo Infinite to be like: The Perfect blend of Classic Design, Newer more complex design and Alien worlds and creatures that feel perfectly crafted, mixed together with just enough new and legacy design aspects and proper use of color with a variety of hues to delight the eye with Greens, Blues, Reds, Purples and thick, dark gray rolling clouds that make the Forerunner Towers shrouded in mystery

Artstation: Search “Ruan Jia” ( Their page has about 20 different concept arts from Infinite production )

I’ve also seen several other Infinite concept artists work ( Martin Deschambault, the designer who made the floating aliens that replaced the Drones [ I forget his name but he also had interesting landscapes ) , that look more interesting than the campaign we got ( such as the Silent auditorium BEFORE that section of the ring was destroyed ) and frankly Making the campaign and story be CLOSER to their work would truly be an evolution for the series, as I feel as the actual campaign for Infinite does not capture the feel of Mysteriousness and magic that these pieces of artwork do with their use of creatures, color variety, landscape types and forerunner architecture.

These concept arts feel Mysterious, they add new environments and designs that fit a happy medium between the Original Forerunner architecture style and the newer style found in Halo 4/5 and have an almost slight “fantasy” feel to them, which makes me feel as though the Magic of previous Halo games has been recaptured and properly developed in a logical fashion with this style that makes the player feel as though a mind blowing adventure awaits them on the alien ring, rather than just being a Smear of Rocks, grass and Hexagon walls with Marines to rescue ( which is fine, but Infinite overly relied on certain elements, lacking the mission variety seen in top Open World/semi-open world titles )

Here is a List of the Most Amazing Halo Infinite Concept art that I WOULD HOPE to see in the actual campaign in the future:

  1. The look and feel of the Slient Auditorium BEFORE it was damaged is absolute perfection. the Massive city feel to it, the rolling forrests and the massive Trench FEEL EXCITING. PLease 343, if we could have other locations like this on the main part of the ring that closer match Martin Deschambault’s vision for this location, you would be well on your way to making the greatest sci fi game of all time.

  2. In the Piece by Martin Deschambault with the giant river, the Floating structures, the Massive Walls ( WIthout Hexagons ), the Thick forests, and Large, winding river FEEL like how I expected Infinite to be. IT has a LOT of variety compared to the overuse of Hexagons being used for Forerunner vertical sections. Please, for future campaign regions that feature the PNW Biome, allow your environments to have this variety seen in Martin’s work, which felt like it was missing from the landscape in the actual campaign. The thickness of the forests, the Cliff walls with the floating forerunner Rectangular wall structure, the less reliance on Hexagon-walls, the large river leading to a floating tower, all feel more NATURAL, IMMERSIVE, VARIED and “CORRECT” compared to the actual landscapes we got in Infinite.

  3. Ruan Jia’s Battle o the brutes against the Guardian ( seeing this in the game would have been ***INSANELY COOL *** ) , the Assault on Brute Ships with a covenant-like walker vehicle, the Variety of Forerunner structures ( I like the classic art style as well as Ruan’s more modern, complex take on their architecture, so it would be nice to see BOTH on Zeta Halo, with perhaps the style of arch that look almost like cities all encapsulate the variety I expected. Please integrate these set pieces, biomes, ideas and locations, as they feel like a breath of fresh air in the same way I felt when playing the amazing “Horizon Zero Dawn”. I enjoy both the CLASSIC Forerunner architecture AND Ruan Jia’s More COMPLEX, MODERN take on Forerunner buildings. it would be nice to see BOTH STYLES present on Zeta Halo, perhaps with the more modern/complex architecture being present in different regions and biomes in the same way that we can see different architectural styles in different cities on earth.

There is proper variety of Biomes, Plentiful Wildlife, Forerunner CITIES ( not just random structures, although random structures are cool too, but adding larger city-like forerunner locations makes the game feel more “complete” ), new and interesting vehicle design, a Massive Boss fight with a Brute-like creature, and the architecture feels both Familiar and distinctly Alien.

I also enjoy the fact that it shows what should have been a follow-up from Halo 5, with the Infinity still intact and what appear to be Beautiful locations set on Sanghelios.

Please 343, don’t let your artists work be in vain and develop the Story, Art style and locations/biomes/architectures and creatures More Closely based on their work. I truly am astounded by Ruan Jia and several other Concept Artists work as the VARIETY, COLORFULNESS and MYSTERY present in their style and renderings feels MAGICAL, something I did not feel with the Infinite Campaign’s repetitive use of environmental assets ( too many rocks and hexagons, instead of lush forests, thick swampy marshes, coastal shoreline regions and other landscape attributes in the PNW region that seemed to be missing from the Biome in Infinite.

P.S: While some may disagree, Juan Jia’s interpretations of Cortana and “The weapon” felt a lot more varied and interesting than the actual design of those characters in Infinite. While I did not like the way Cortana looked in Halo 5, the exploration of her design by JIA, feels SCI FI, takes risks, and gives Cortana as slight Forerunner feel to her ascthetic. I only wish there could have been some type of confrontation between Cortana and the weapon as is shown where The Weapon is floating in front of Cortana. That scene LOOKED EPIC.

Please 343, despite the fact that fans clamor for Forerunner and art design closer to the original series, I wholehardedly think that Ruan Jia’s style encapsulates a happy medium that embraces BOTH art styles, and makes the game look EXCITING, something I didn’t feel playing the Infinite campaign which felt like a copy and paste of previous games in an incomplete, simplified open-world format which needs more variety.

thank you for hearing out this humble request.

Please let us see more:

  1. Marshlands
  2. Waterfalls
  3. Variety amongst the PNW Biome that has more colors than just Green and Rocks ( snow capped mountains, rolling fields, plains, tall grass, shoreline with rivers and coasts ), Fog, Tree variety
  4. Ruan Jia’s BIOMES, which feel both familiar and Alien, with what seems to be a mix of Iceland/Ireland inspired biomes, prehistoric lush plains ( the art with the giant creatures ), and more
  5. Sanghelios type environments
  6. The Ireland/Iceland/Scotland type Biome with the rolling hills ( notice no hexagons present in these concept arts, which I like )
  7. Levels with CONTRAST. The artwork of Chief on a rock with green hills below, a reddish, glowing forerunner structure floating above, and thick, smoky grey clouds is the perfect blending of colors and vibrance which feels more Alien and mysterious than the locations in Infinite.
