Dear 343i, my response to calls for change

Dear 343i,

I have been following the forums these past few weeks and have finally decided to respond. In this open post, I will not use any legal jargon, thus keeping it simple and direct, saving such for documents which will follow if and when necessary, to be served upon Microsoft and 343i in any individual or class action.

343i, via its staff, in interviews, in print, audio and video, in the months prior to the launch of Halo 4, stated what would be in the game and specifically, Matchmaking (War Games). Here, I am referring to Loadouts, AAs, Tactical Package’s and Support Upgrades. These items were then detailed in the Halo 4 Guide Book.

As you are aware, 343i, you rights under Consumer Protection Laws, Commercial and Corporate Laws and Tort Law allows you to do certain things and prevents you from doing others. You, 343i, would be aware that as you advertised the items above pre-launch and detailed them in the Guide Book, that those things can not be removed or altered (nerf), to use a lay term. I (we) purchased a product based upon what was said and printed. If any of those items are removed or changed, I (we) no longer have the product intended and compensation is due, an individual and/or class action would follow.

What you, 343i, under law can do, is fix something with the product which is broken. For example, glitches in the game and MP, such as with the BS, which were not intended or somehow got through the testing phases. Further, you, 343i, are entitled to provide DLC, change play lists, ban people and so on. On the other hand, it is my (our) view, that under law, you can not remove or change something which is not broken, for example, the DMR, AC, Wheelman mod, the health of any particular vehicle and so on, as those items perform exactly as you, 343i, stated they would in all your statements prior-launch, thus, are clearly not broken.

Therefore, if you, 343i, decide to Kowtow to the minority who actually call for the advertised product to be changed, which is not broken, as it would be defined under various laws, you will not be reading anything further from me in these forums but, will have direct communication from the appropriate representatives appointed. I (we) will be disappointed that the product we purchased, based upon you own statements, would no longer exist.

Having said the above, I (we), have confidence that you, 343i, actually believe in the product you designed, the features you implemented, and have no desire to remove or ‘nerf’ such features which are not, by definition, broken. The game/product, I (we) believe, is as how you, 343i, intended it to be and, change for changes sack, is not warranted, nor legal.

Let us hope that common sense prevails.

With kind regards

WolfBlade XIII (Microsoft has my real name & details.)

If any of this were true Title Updates would be illegal. I’m gonna call bull on this.

oh god my sides

> If any of this were true Title Updates would be illegal. I’m gonna call bull on this.

Same, but nice effort

i like to ask you
are you sure your a LAWYER not a armchair lawyer?

nice try

software development is left to the developers not the courts to decide
how a company makes a game is for them to decide you do not like it you do not have to buy it

nor can a player decide if it is broken or not

this is why people have title updates

LOOK OUT!

THE DEFENDERS HIRED A LAWYER!

XD

They have all the rights to their own game, do you really think bungie would have kept the Scorpion on Hemmorhage in Reach even after all the complaints for it being op? No! 343i can do whatever they want to change their game to make it better for everyone.

And if you dont like change, then I can do nothing else but suggest what you have pushed at people who want things to change:

ADAPT.

A whole lot of typing that results in a whole lot of nothing.

A+.

Believable. Interesting and overall cool story.

Overall great job.

what lawyer
it seems like the new COD fans who purchased halo seems to have a lawyer if you look at the first post

sorry but there is TU are a fact of life

we’re not against change but you shouldn’t start threatening legal action when there is no reason to
THE first TU isn’t out yet
Title updates do take time

IF bugs were against the law wouldn’t you think Activision would be in court right now? with all the WOW and blizzard and infinity ward and treyarch bugs

fyi to make a game or debug a game it takes months the game has only been out 1and a half months

4/10

This is total bull. Blizzard put Dance Studio on their boxes, and we never got it. Part of the Terms and Conditions you agree to is that the creators reserve the right to change, manipulate, add, or remove, just about anything they want.

Not only did the OP not spare the legal jargon, it was not a very coherent post to begin with.

I’d prefer flamers to posts like these.

Tripod

we better warn APPLE cause apple maps is so buggy and lead people to the desert and is 70miles off that is a clear violation of consumer law
Oh wait it isn’t

its a BUG

343 can do with whatever the hell they want with their game. They dont even go on these Forums, so your little plea/troll will forever be unheard.

The funniest part of this is the last statement. “(Microsoft has my real name and details.)”

Any lawyer would know that Microsoft can not divulge personal information of a consumer to another company, even if the studio is under the Microsoft banner.

Give me a break.

who knows
my guess a cod player who thinks halo should be more like call of duty
