Dear 343i,

After reading this thread; http://halo.xbox.com/Forums/yaf_postst63353_Sangheili--Elites--In-Halo-4-Matchmaking.aspx; and following along in the conversations, it has come to my attention that much of the community would like the elites back. While we are aware that you are devising a story to have a reason for the reds and the blues fighting, it was brought to my attention by many people on this forum that it would be indeed possible to fit the elites into the equation.

The elite communtiy from what i have heard may make up at least 1/4 of the overall halo community. And from the thread in which i have brought to your attention, many of the elite based fans would not buy the game without the elites in multiplayer. While we understand that the elites stand almost a foot taller than the spartans, if what we have heard about the perk system coming from the type of armor you wear, the size of hitbox on the elite would not matter. Because it is bigger, you could give the elites slightly more damage resistance.

A great deal of suppoters have shown up oj the thread listed above, most of them claiming they wanted the elites back in some form or another. Unfortunately, reach did not meet the needs of the elite community, as the elites were only in invasiona and the seldom picked elite slayer. This led many elite fans to flee halo reach and return to halo 3, to conitinue playing as elites.

Please do not make the mistake in undersetimating the size of the elite community, and do not limit the elites to one simple playlist, for even in that playlist you had to play as a spartan. The elite community wish to be able to play as elites in most of the multiplayer games. While we are aware that some catagories would not work, such as swat, snipers and MLG, we would still like to see the return of the elites to multiplayer other than invasion.

We are well aware that the elites would be at a disadvantage to the hitbox size, but like i said before that can be counteracted. After reading the posts in the above thread it sounds as though the elite commuity would be willing to sacrafice the size of the elites simply to make it fair and have them back in multiplayer.

I am sorry if you have already started on the elites, or if the elites are already in the game and we just dont know yet. I just wanted the voice of the elite community to be heard.

The elite community makes up 1/4th of the community? As in 25% of the players who play halo do so only on the condition that they can play as dinosaurs that run around and go blarg? I understand that elites might be something you really love about the halo series, but I think you might be exaggerating a little bit.

Actually, im not a big fan of the elites, i was just speaking on behalf of the elite community. And while 1/4 are elite fans, not all will quit, but a great majority will.

To be honest I would rather see Elites confined to special playlists or game types like they were in reach. I think elites are supposed to be big and bad -Yoink- and able to kick a regular spartan’s -Yoink-. That’s why I think it would be cool to see them in game types like invasion where they actually are balanced.

Where did you get these numbers from?

Speculation, estimation, and the amout of elite clans, players i have seen. Its actually a smaller number, not quite 1/4, its actually probably closer to 1/6 but thats still alot. I took the amount of players online in reach and in halo 3, added them together, found a whole bunch of elite clans and the made about 1/6 the population.

It is an exaduration. Bungie’s studies showed that it was about 1 in 10 players appreciate the Elite model fully, playing consistently as Elites. About 1/4 of the Halo community plays as Elites chunk of their time, but not the majority of it.

At least, that’s as per Halo 3. In Reach you mostly don’t even have a choice.

Hell 90% of all spartan III’s dont even have shields. Just cloaking or tech that was stolen from a elite built in.

But we have no Idea how tall they are

As long as the gameplay is balanced and the hitboxes are the same elites can come to H4. If not, Frak em.

Agreed I didn’t really like the Elites and hated when I had to be one in specialized games like ‘Invasion’ I wouldn’t mind seeing them in campaign though! they were an easy head shot lol

I don’t know, the Elites never appealed to me. As long as they aren’t made stronger than the Spartans.

Given how adults(The Spartan 4 volunteers) can not be as radically modifed as children, their augmenations won’t be specatacular. At most they are just moderately modified men and women that are wearing newer, and lighter mark 7 armour.

Pretty much a lot of swat kids in halo 3 played as elites and derankers or kid that were bad. just putting that out!!!

I love elites too, I hope to see them in the halo 4 MP
