Never do a free week or weekend or whatever ever again. Having had Halo 5 since release it sucks that people that actually play your game on the regular can’t because free week or weekends or whatever. I get what you are trying to do but give them coop or warzone or even social match making. Kind of annoying that I can’t find a game because you either didn’t get your servers ready or people most of whom don’t really care about your game are making it hard for people who do actually care about your game to play. Games been out long enough and is cheap enough by now. If they really cared about the game they could have least bought it on a sale or something.

The issues with the game this weekend were due to multiple Xbox Live outages, not anything to do with 343. It’s unfortunate that these issues happened while it was a free weekend, but it could have been any weekend really.
All of Xbox was having issues it wasn’t just Halo 5 and I highly doubt it was caused by the free weekend.
Funny, no other xbox game had an issue on xbox live this weekend or at this moment because of “xbox live outages”. Find it funny that the only game that I have that has been a pain is Halo 5. Not even halo wars 2 had an issue.
Multiple games had issues this weekend, perhaps you personally didn’t experience issues where you are but I was following this closely and more than just Halo was affected. Many of my friends had issues joining matchmaking for other games (Overwatch / Warframe) and signing in to Xbox Live
Yeah even the Xbox Live site stated Dragonball FighterZ and Gears of War 4 having issues as well. Plus Core Services were affected Cloud Storage and usage of downloaded games and apps.
Yeah notice that a beta and another microsoft game was the problem. The problem is the fact that this is happening after having a leg up on every other console they are getting -Yoink-. And 343 servers aren’t much better. Halo MCC and Halo 5 have always had problems.
Sorry other people may have had an issue but the only issue this weekend with “Xbox live outage” was halo 5. But explain Halo wars 2, played that this weekend too and no issues. Maybe be a different server but it is connected to 343 and Xbox live. So yeah the logic of Xbox live outage isn’t logical. If it was a lot more games would have been broken all weekend and now. Halo 5 is still running like -Yoink-. Just played. Got kick from match making a few times. Hell a game was even dropped. And to be honest since the “multiplayer update” in November it has not run well at all. I don’t think they update just gun setting. If that was true I wouldn’t have an issue every other day with the game. Same internet as before, same connection speeds as before, so you can’t just say internet connection either. The only logical conclusion is they -Yoinked!- up the match making settings. Look I don’t hate 343 but between the update changes, servers acting stupid, and the bull -Yoink- of MCC, which also worked this weekend, and it never works, they really need to get their -Yoink- together. Halo 4 was fine, never had match making issues, never had issues just running the game, didn’t like the multiplayer but that is a personal preference, but between MCC and the “multiplayer update” I’m not enjoying the games as much as before. All because of connection issues. This isn’t a bright future for halo 6 or any other future halo games, if their are any. If halo 6 runs like this 343 and halo are done. I’m aonnyed because I actually care and 343 and the halo franchise. I don’t want a game I love and am a huge fan of die because 343 couldn’t get their act together. Maybe I care too much but it isn’t looking good.
As I said, maybe you personally didn’t experience problems in your area but there was an Xbox Live outage that affected multiple services and games. There were other games that we’re affected. Go look up Xbox Support’s social feed for last weekend, they weren’t tweeting about these issues for no reason
People tweet about lag because there router is on the other side of a big house. So no there twitter feed isn’t really reliable. Service that people have mention worked. You can say xbox live outage if it only affect some people. That isn’t how networking anything works. Unless servers and switches and routers died. Like the physical parts stopped working. And then the service we are talking about would fall off one piece at a time not, work for some people and not work for others. Unless your are talking about traffic issues then that would be cause by more people log on to service that normally don’t have that amount of people on them. What would cause that? Free weekends? Or they “updated” something and it didn’t work correctly. Which is also dumb to do on a exclusive free weekend. Take your pick either Microsoft or 343 -Yoinked!- up, pretty much the same company so it really doesn’t matter.
I’m not talking about other people tweeting to Xbox Support, I’m talking about Xbox Support themselves, specifically tweeting out that their services were down for periods of time. And, no, they’re not “pretty much the same company”. If Xbox Live goes down it has absolutely nothing to do with 343, nor can anyone at 343 do anything to fix that
Okay but the logic you and Microsoft are using is traffic based. And yes 343 is own by Microsoft. Didn’t say 343 could do anything just saying that they are apart of the same company. Xbox Support also has to do damage control. They are either lying or traffic was too much. The reasons are the same. You don’t want to say something broke because that make you look like you don’t know what your doing to people you have know idea how networks work. Whether it be a software breaking or hardware breaking. If it was from traffic then they should really just say so. Instead of just saying “outage” how about a reason. Just saying things have an issue does help the situations. It doesn’t explain why some people were effected and why some were not, why some games worked but some didn’t. Damage control is the fail and might be the fall of every company.
If you want an explanation of why Xbox Live was down, I really suggest you go and take it up with them. This isn’t a Halo issue
