Dear 343, we don't want excuses for why the netcode is bad, we want you to fix it

Pretty much lol. Same thing everywhere, people crying about every little thing.

Same here. At least they took the time to explain what was happening. It’s like little kids in here. Cry about no communication, then when they finally get communication they cry about that… ffs

I can play other games at 50 ping and it doesn’t feel like total trash

Oh wait a minute, it’s you again.

Ignore them, they’ve made like 5 ban evasion accounts by now.

How did it ever revert to that in the first place? How did Big Team Battle go from working fine to literally unplayable?

343 doing 343 things, I guess.

This is the core of the issue that 343 has failed to explain. Why does their netcode feel so much worse at a given latency than other shooters on the market?

Infinite at 20 ping feels like CS:GO at 100 ping.

Totally agree with you, base of this problem was, bugs on multiplayer and awful progression sistem. That’s what made me stop playing multiplayer, at least for me was not enjoyable.

I actually appreciated the explanation personally, but you’re absolutely correct. Instead of defending it, they need to fix it.

Can we also take a moment to note how stupid it is that 343’s blog post makes a big deal about how it’s bad when a shooter needs to lead their target, when there are many things in the game designed around leading your target (heatwave, rockets, warthog gun, etc)?

Their own game contradicts their own posts in some ways.

No, leading your shots is not a bad thing. Having to compensate how much you lead your shot based on your latency and your target’s latency is a bad thing. It would change from game to game and even differ among each enemy within the same match.

So, say nothing unless it’s “we have a patch that will fix things on the way”. This will just lead people into thinking that they’re ignoring us.

Not sure how well that will blow over IMO.

My personal solution to Halo Infinite’s problems is simple. I don’t play it. I encourage everyone to not play it. I have never felt more ripped off by digital content in my life. I barely find any matches. I get between 40-4000 ping each match with 200mb/s service. I get shot around corners and I’ve witnessed 4sec kill shot delays.

Meanwhile the 60USD campaign is graphically comparable to Reach, has only one biome and maybe 1/4th the diversity of Halo CE ~ the one title in the series that was infamous for its repetition and backtracking.

At this point, they seem to think the name alone entitles them to our money. I very much used to be on the “be quiet/ community needs to he less toxic” boat but as a Halo fan I’m just sort of…done?

Halo Infinite is painful, because I love it - it’s fun when working, but it just never works long enough to justify the hd space.

Dont worry about ping, the game crashed again during the HCS Anaheim NA Regional Finals (offline event).

I dont think geofiltering was/is the issue, how many actually uses it ?
Maybe 1% ???
I have tried geofiltering and also without it, sure it sucks to play against US players when they are one home court advantage, you are totally -Yoink!- if the players are near your skill level and have server advantage.
And now it probably will be more EU/US games in the future.
Still I see people getting 25/10 in team slayer.
I also think 120hz is more advantage than geofilterng.

That’s because the problems are not geofiltering and ping. That’s just a scapegoat to cover their incompetence for another week.

But the actual problems are showing up even in LAN matches… Soooo???

I agree, geofiltering is not the issue, just an excuse. What this means is that they force you to play on US servers. I see people quiting games that have too high ping.

More clear evidence that there are structural problems with the foundation on which this game is built.

It’s embarrassing they are still holding tournaments and handing out money with their game fundamentally broken.

It would be like holding the super bowl, but with the understanding that a fan is allowed to run onto the field at a random time and tackle a random player, and all results of the play will still count.

My guess? They have no idea what the problems are and don’t have people with enough skill to find out. Or, alternatively, they DO know what the problems are, but they are so fundamental and deeply engrained into the game engine that they have made a conscious decision never to spend the time and money to fix them.

Except we saw blatant desync on LAN at Raleigh and Anaheim.
