Alright. Dont get me wrong you guys really came through and saved Halo with this genius idea 2 remake all the Halo’s. But lets not forget the 1-50 ranking system H2 and H3 had that made it so great. You guys gotta bring it back and this Collection will be perfect. I know you guys are as blown away and excited as I am but stay focused and DONT FORGET THE 1-50 RANKING SYSTEM 4 CORTANA’S SAKE. Pretty sure they said in an interview with IGN that they’ll be talking about ranking more later on but people like yourself will like it. 
There will be a ranking system that works across all 4 games. According to Dan Ayub, if you liked Halo 2’s ranking system, you will like the one they are working one. That’s all we know for now.
Would be cool if they have rankings for the individual games, and one major ranking that takes in all four games.

That is perfect. Like maybe an EXP points for experience for all Halos overall, or a rating number for them overall, and 1 for each game and their unique game modes. Good thinking, we can only hope.

Oh, and just think about the service records, now. 
Ranking in Halo is like, the most controversial topic ever. Both sides usually have good arguments for not having or having them. I don’t think we can ever find a good middle ground.
…not unless we can find a way to make people all good.
Ranking really has no purpose than to show either skill or experience.
To be honest I don’t care much for a visible ranking system as much as an invisible ranking system. As in, I don’t care what kind of fancy number or shiny medal is in front of my gamertag as long as I am matched up against people who have similar skill in the game as I do.

Some people put way more emphasis on the importance of rank.

Some games like CoD give ranking a purpose through level incentives. But Halo ranks pretty much just said that you know your stuff…

A lot of players, including myself like the progression of ranking up in each playlist. It’s kind of like the skill gap semi-visualized and it’s cool kind of seeing yourself go up or down. I think it adds a nice incentive to the experience.

Yup… But as I said. Skill and experience. Which is why I liked old Halo rankings, and despised Halo 4s.

I’m still unsure if this is “your mom bought you a shirt and she says you will like it” or “your gf has a surprise for you, bites on her lip and says you will like it”.
I hope they’ve learned from their mistakes but I’m quite confident they did.

Oh goody, a ranking system to ruin the Halo CE MP feel. 
I prefer H3 style ranking system with exp to be earned in playlists. The way bungie managed H3 was phenominal and that is how 343 should manage every game.
