Dear 343, i want to have a conversation.

I’m not here to scream complaints, i love your game.
It truely is the next srep in halo gameplay. the gameplay is very smooth and the movement and maps are very well thought out and playable, but i don’t know why certain things are the way they are, and i would like to understand, And while trying to understand your perception on the gameplay, i would like to explain mine.

I don’t confront things with anger it’s much more plausable to approach situations with logic, so here is my logic.

I am a competitive halo player, but i can look at things to see how they help the more “play for fun” population, such as ordinance and class abilities. Which i believe are good additions to any game.

But, there are a few things i can’t seem to wrap my head around, such as the lack of a remaining “X” over a players corpse. As a competitive player they X’s are very useful to me, with things like map movement or communication, we use Xs as basically a point of awareness, such as with an X we know that there are possible low shield enemies around that area, or fallen power weapons. And from a Uncompetitive player’s view the Xs can be used as signs that there s a battle over there and maybe i should stay away, or that’s obviously a trap. So for me i believe that a floating X should be placed over a spartans corpse and in instant respawn games should even remain for a few seconds, no more than five but no less than 3 preferably. So i would like you hear or read your explaination as to why you didn’t put it into the game. Once again i’m not complaining, i would just like you know why things are the way they are.

Number 2, Dropping the flag, now i’m sure you’ve been beaten of the head with people screaming for a drop the flag function, but i just want you to see from my specific point of view. While playing compititive games there are players that consider themselves “Slayers” so they refuse to play objective in some belief that it will hurt their “K/D” So that forces players like me who “play for the win” to play objectives. So while doing that i have to put myself in dangerous positions to grab flags. Now in any other game i could essentially throw the flag out of the opponent’s base and then maintain my safety then pursue the flag when i feel it is advantagous. However, in your game once i grab the flag I’m pretty much dedicated to capturing that flag. So now, not only is a there a big target over my head, By grabbing the flag instantly lost the option to escape a direct engagement, and with the gameplay being so fast, people can just put themselves into “power positions” and tak advantage of my play without me being able to respond. Now for someone that plays for fun dropping the flag isn’t really an essential thing, those players tend to grab the flag and “run it to death”. So i would like to know while you decided that players should be more dedicated to the objective like that?

Number 3, Medals. As a competitive player i love seeing the medals appear on my screen, as i’m sure every player does. And yes, you have added many medals to the game but you also removed some of the more loved medals. Like sniper medals- Sniper headshot medals, sniper sprees. Now i will give you big props on adding the snapshot medal, it’s amazing. But snipes are something that people love and without the medal it kind of takes away from some of that “Hype” which makes halo so much fun.

So i would just like to know why some of these changes were made. I love your game the way it is, but i just would like to understand why you steered away from the more traditional halo gameplay.
Also, if there were previous post explaining this or any points that i may be wrong on, feel free to explain or link them to me.
Although i doubt anyone at 343 industries will actually read this post, i hope that i am given some explaination by someone.

Thanks for taking the time to read

With what? Getting along without your godly opinions?

Yes lol

343 implements additions to the game that many asked for when the game had launched. Claims that 343 don’t care about what players think. k.

Yeah you know I still don’t understand their logic or reasoning behind removing medals like the sniper headshot medals or sniper spree medals. This is often overlooked, and there is really no good reason they weren’t included. smh

Yes, but half the time those things are broken or so altered that they were nothing like what the community asked for…

343 doesn’t listen to us. This game has been nothing but a broken, stripped down mess since launch and hasn’t improved one bit.

I got to thinking of this the other day as well. Not to mention the splatter sprees, and also the wheel man sprees are missing. I don’t understand at all why they did this. The only thing I can think of is that they didn’t want people hogging power weapons and vehicles? idk.

I enjoy Halo 4 (about 50% of the time…Jk, I like it, but it took a while to get used to), but what I think everyone needs to remember is that this is 343i’s first game. It’s definitely flawed, but I still have faith that they’ll improve with Halo 5

If you really want to get heard why aren’t these things discussed face to face with them at these conventions where they have no choice but to listen or put them in the spotlight at the FAQs like at PAX instead of the pointless questions that already know the answer to and wasting time on these essays?
