What? Another 17 year old who’s been into this franchise since the beginning? I thought I was unique!!
Anyway here’s my opinion:
Halo 4’s new additions are GREAT. I do feel however that there should be to groups of playlists: Ranked and social.
In the ranked playlists there would be all of the standard gametypes and everyone would start with the same setup (Preferably BR, Magnum, and 2 frags). Then in the Social section you’d have your own loadouts and ordinance and all that jazz. These new settings are very fun but they take a way a bit of the competitiveness that was Halo.
I do, however, think that everybody having sprint is great.
> My main concern is How custom games kind of got screwed over… And the boltshot. But the boltshot is fixed and hopefully so will customs…
>
> So Halo 4 has its problems but its good
I love Halo 4 but my main problems were also the Boltshot and Custom Games. Also the Forge maps could be better. Fine editing in Forge would be great but I would only use it every now and then thanks to magnets and copy/paste.
> I love playing Halo 4. However the Multiplayer is plagued with randomness and it gets so dang frustrating at times. Infinity crap needs to be put into a social playlist and bring back a classic game, with classic rules.
>
> MK V armor is about the last thing that is needed.
After reading this I felt bad for ever ripping on Halo 4. It might have its problems but it’s still a great game. This game is a great test to strip the community of fake halo fans and keep the people that love halo for halo.
> i started on halo ce and i must say the campaign and the personality of halo 4 i love. The main issue im finding is like others have said is some of the feature they added in multiplayer which takes the experience in the wrong direction IMO, ordnance drops are my main hate of this games multiplayer as well as random weapon spawns if these were removed i would love multiplayer so much more.

> The fact theater has been removed for campaign has also bugged me a little as well as many of lil features in gametype creation, and in forge features but the one and only hate i have for custom games in halo 4 is the fact they replaced infection with flood or assualt for grifball… ¬_¬

Play team throwdown then. It has what your looking for.

Why would 343 waste time, money and resources when all you have to do, the gamer is get up, walk to your Xbox and replace the Halo 4 disc with Halo 3?
I don’t get why people want the same game released all the time.

Half these people that don’t like the game seem to have started on Halo 2-3 or Reach and haven’t even seen the full Halo story or have taken time to read the books, but I have and I absolutely love the game you have produced. The story was compelling and the multi-player is fun, there are annoying times sure (BOLTSHOT CAMPERS >:@) but that is because of annoying people, not because the game is “bad” as some say.

I enjoy Halo 4 very much and look forward to the future of the franchise.
We, as a community, need to recognize that some people will always be more optimistic than others. It’s really a matter of attitude more than anything. There are some that will always look for imperfections and areas of improvement. Although these people may never be content nor satisfied, we do need them like it or not. Regardless of their delivery methods, constructive criticisms do come out of those who complain. If everyone is perfectly happy with any product then there is no incentive for innovation and progression.
343i have addressed certain problems raised by the community and most likely will continue to improve various aspects of the game as time goes on. They have hired Bravo to aid them in the multiplayer aspect of the game.
It’s a daunting task to take on such a beloved franchise (the mantle of responsibility) and I personally believe that 343i has done a fine job with their first creation (excluding CE Anniversary since it’s only a remake). There’s plenty of room for improvement, of course, and I am sure we will witness the progress.
The constant flaming wars and personal attacks due to conflict of opinion is the only thing that’s tearing the community apart. If you truly love the halo universe, honor the years of your devotion and support for the franchise, appreciate the work and sacrifice of those who made halo into not only a game but a sub-culture of our generations, leave the resentment behind and work together as a community to ensure that there will be a future for the franchise.
Bottom line: Although I respect the men and women working hard at the studio, 343i doesn’t need hugs and kisses from the community. It, as a business, needs genuine/constructive advice from different sectors of the population (casual or competitive) so that they can make executive decisions to improve the game in a way that is balanced, inclusive, and innovative. A mutually beneficial relationship can exist if we as the community can provide CONSTRUCTIVE feedback and 343i as the developer can implement changes accordingly. Enhanced gaming experience for us…more revenue for them!
My opinion is Halo 4 is the worst Halo game, Reach wasn’t this glitchy, it has all the playlists and it didn’t lag until 343 took over and started to mess all around.
Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, and Zack you are absolutely right. The campaign of Halo 4 left some disappointments and certainly did not full live up to previous installments, but Halo 4 matchmaking is by far, the most fun I’ve ever had on an online game.

Yes, they do deserve the hate they’re receiving. They claimed to be Halo fans, yet they changed pretty much everything about the game that made it Halo in the first place. And all that change was for absolutely no reason other than they wanted it to be their Halo. We already know Halo belongs to 343, they didn’t have to go changing character designs, enemy designs, and gameplay just because they wanted it to be theirs. Halo was always unique among console shooters, but 343 have made it start blending in with all the others just to modernize it and to innovate. There are other ways they could’ve innovated Halo while still keeping to it’s roots, and keeping what made Halo a unique shooter.

It’s not an earlier game in the series. People who were ticked off Halo 2 was different than Halo: CE are still ticked, people who are ticked Halo 3 wasn’t CE or 2 are ticked, etc, etc, etc. They just seem to kind of build up.
They don’t invest in the lore, then they call the game shallow and plot-less.
3)They refuse to adapt to a new play style. There are new guns, and some guns work differently. Of course Valhalla will feel different than Ragnarok, there were no DMR’s on Valhalla to pick you off it you wandered out of cover too long. But instead of stick to cover they try to play the map the same way they would in Halo 3. I can see how they would still be in those habits somewhat, with everything being the same each game except the players things in Halo 3 got pretty repetitive for me, but they really need to try something new. The loadouts and drop ensure that nothing will be exactly the same every game, and trying the same old thing again and again trying to get a different outcome is the definition of insanity. Maybe push by the pelican rather than going straight over the middle next time will be a better plan.
Also, lol at the people trying to tell you your opinion is wrong.
I thought this was going to be another hater post, but thankfully it’s not. I agree with you in every way, except I don’t really care about the removal of Mark V.
Spartans are movin’ on up

Okay, like what. What could they have done to make the game different. I always hear about things that should have stayed the same, but what would you have done differently, building from Reach like 343 was?
Wow, still getting a lot of strong support here, this is great.
Also, people who say “they could have made their own original ideas” Start throwing your ideas out and let the community judge them.
And in my opinion Halo is still at it’s core Halo, Takes more then one shot to kill someone(Cod,battlefield, etc) High jump heights, shield and futuristic weapons, super soldiers, a great campaign, crazy fun vehicles and the mechanics, THE STICKY GRENADE! >:D, and the competitive feel is still there, along with map control.
Seems like halo at it’s core to me. (Just my opinion, does not reflect others)
