Dear 343 and anyone who reads this,
I was able to play the Halo 5 Pre-Beta and man was it a blast! Of course there were a couple things that needed tweaks but thats because this is the beta so of course there are bound to be some. One thing that I would love to see, and I think many others would agree, would be what is called a custom control scheme! (It rhymes!)
I played the MCC with the “Green Thumb” button set and just fell in love. It fit my bill perfectly, and then when I played the Halo 5 Pre-Beta I was a little annoyed as one or two buttons had been changed on me. Now, i’m not saying that you should change it just because of me but here is my idea…
Keep the layouts you have. Southpaw, Recon, Green Thumb, Etc. But, have an option at the end titled: “Custom”
Then have the basic actions as a list going down the left side (Sprint/move, melee, thruster, grenade, etc.), and using the left thumbstick to highlight one of these actions, it will show on the right side of the table to select a button/trigger to assign to said action.
I think it would really help with Halo 5 if we have custom control schemes. Keep the regular layouts that were used in the beta for those who liked it, but have this option for those who want to get creative. I just don’t want to pick a whole new control set just because one/two buttons don’t work for me when I have the possibility of changing it myself.
Thanks for taking the torch and running even further.
