Dear 343
i thank you for the battle rifle in this new halo to give the old school fans something to look foreword to but face it their are huge cons lets cut the chit chat.
The battle rifle has a 5-8 shot kill
(NO BR 4 SHOT REWORD FOR A PERFECT STRAFE!!!)
at Best with perfect strafe the dmr can get a 5 shot kill with 4 of the shots hitting the players back from across the map while the BR takes up to a full clip. 1/5 vs 1/8 is about a big differential. judging on the players skill that is a insane amount of a damage boost i would say,it is unacceptable.im not saying to milk the dmr i actually don’t want the dmr to be changed but the br should be more powerful by 12-15% knowing that you will almost never connect the full shot at particular ranges and variations
IM NOT SAYING THE DMR IS OP GUYS THE DMR DOES NOT NEED TO BE SMASHED DOWN THE BR JUST SIMPLY NEEDS THE 4 SHOT TO COMPETE IN A COMBAT SITUATION. YOU GUYS ARE ALL BASING YOUR OPINIONS OFF OF STANDING STILL SITUATIONS THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN IF YOUR PLAYING ANYONE GOOD!
a dmr user vs br are even if they are standing still the whole time that’s that is one of the ways you will get the full connect with BR. they are balanced in a standing still situation but in a combat situation i don’t think 343 took that into consideration.

I have to agree with OP the BR does suck now. the sound sucks and the damage sucks (at range particularly, thanks to the DMR -_-), the only thing I like about it is the arctic weapon skin lol.
The BR should be the weapon of choice for Spartans, they should be pictured with it on cover art, not the AR.
When I think of Halo, the BR is one of the first things that comes to mind.

When I think of Halo, I think of the Assault Rifle (Halo’s signature weapon).
Its range sucks because its no meant for long range! DMR/BR/Sniper/LR for that.
If BR had more dmg/reaload speed/firing rate. The AR and shotgun would be backseat drivers. For the gods sake, it even stands in each of the weapons description IN-GAME what role they have.
I like em all and try to adapt each one to different maps. Though I love the DMR dosent mean I go -Yoink- if someone says its not haloish or RUINS gameplay.

Indeed! And I dont see AR fans trashing others for liking a different weapon, like BR. At leas I havent noticed.
The DMR and BR are balanced on paper, but the main difference is the DMR needs to land 5 bullets for a 5 shot kill but the BR needs to land 15 bullets to get the same kill. Some of those bullet might miss(which happens alot due to the amount of lag that is present in Halo 4 atm) racking it up to maybe 6-7 shots for a kill. The DMR is just easier to use atm and has alot more slack for the player to work with.

2 things:
-The DMR is still better than the BR on paper.
-The BR is a 13-bullet kill.
The BR kills fast enough already. It’s fine. The DMR is the problem. Just nerf the DMR. If the BR gets buffed, than the other primary weapons will have no reason to be in the game.
