Starting with an AR isn’t bad, in my opinion. It’s been my favorite weapon in every Halo it has been in.
Aiming has yet to be a problem for me too. Sorry to hear you are having trouble, but I don’t think anything needs to be fixed.
I dont think you know what deadzone means since its not game-to-game basis. It’s an issue with the controller itself.

And yes I know exactly what a dead zone is.
Its the area around the center of analog stick from which input is not recognised whilst movement is within the boundaries of the area of the zone.
Yes it does suck on the xb1 controller, but it is also not a constant between games and it perfectly customisable by both the developer and (If implemented in the engine and ui) by the end user
