DeadeyeHelmet? Will be available for DLC

So I really want the Deadeye helmet but I was never told where I could get it. Only after purchase I find out that it was only pre order only. I got my copy from Gamestop and the Hazop armor is cool but I can get similar armor from just playing the game enough. I don’t think there is any any way for me to get this helmet.

So 343

Will I be able to purchase this at a later date ever?

They said possibly there would be pre-order DLC, no word on a date yet though. Try eBay if you really want it.

I’ve put some info about this in my topic about the DLC:
Complete checklist of all DLC

But I’ll copy it here for you as well:

This is all that has been said regarding pre-order DLC being released to the public so far, (to the best of my knowledge):

> Was the armor that was available in the PAX build the full set? If so, why is there no Mark V armor?

> The PAX build contains the full set of armor in Halo 4. In the final game, there are a variety of methods for unlocking armor and armor skins - ranking up, earning commendations, progressing through Specializations and completing goals on Waypoint. Some of the skins, helmets, and the FOTUS armor are exclusive to various retail offers. Some of these items MAY become available to all players at a later date. We wanted to focus on the Spartan-IV armors for Infinity, maximizing the amount of variety across the armor designs. However, we did want to include a reward for completing the Campaign on Legendary, so we decided to use the Mark VI armor as that reward. While we’d love to include every historical variant of the Chief’s armor, it’s just not possible to fit more armor sets into the available memory.

So, basically, the answer is we don’t know if it will be released in the future, just that it MAY be.

Another interesting point is the apparent contradiction that was made regarding the Locus and Deadeye helmets…

> Last week, retailers began announcing their Halo 4 pre-order bonuses. The first eight bonuses you’ll see below are skins. (For clarification purposes, please note they are skins only, and we are not locking away armor.)

I’m pretty sure there’s no other way to unlock the Locus or Deadeye helmets in-game.

The Locus helmet was made available via the King of the Hill app and the Deadeye helmet featured in the V Energy Drink giveaway, but both of these promotions have now ended, so technically these two pieces of armor are now ‘locked away’ from players.

Maybe we can make enough noise that they’ll just release the damn thing. Better they make a few bucks a pop than people on ebay selling them for 60 dollars.

Agreed. Want that helmet too

I’ve never been a fan of having to make a choice of where to pre-order a game just to get something that should be in the game no matter what.

It is a complete waste of capital to just say “hey guys, if you want this helmet then go buy here, but if you want a full armor skin then come over here.”

I hate marketing since the consumer is the one to lose. It doesn’t matter if the loss is small or big, losing is something we should not have to deal with.

Well the upcoming halo book: Silentium comes with codes hidden in it.
And i know part of a code is already on the internet somewhere. In hoping this is deadeye armor

> It is a complete waste of capital to just say “hey guys, if you want this helmet then go buy here, but if you want a full armor skin then come over here.”

THIS.

For the first time since there being special boxes available for purchase and special pre-order offers I chose not to do it with Halo 4. Never, ever have I regret this decision so much. Why can’t I just pre-order my copy and get all the cool stuff? I really don’t have the commitment to research the web to find the best offer price-wise and exclusive-wise.

Damn marketing to hell!

Maybe sometime in the future…

I agree, with the exception of Fotus. If you fork over $350 or whatever, it’s the least you can get. However, people like me that preordered LE should be able to get more then just a skin from GS. People that preordered regular copies and bought Map Packs separately got freakin’ helmets! Kinda unfair. I think they got carried away in the promoting department and should have thought it out better. I would be satisfied if they would be available later to unlock. We shouldn’t have to buy anything else. It should be in the game and maybe exclusive (if it needs to be) to an early un-lock for those who already got them seems like an easy way to split the baby, so to speak…

> I hate marketing since the consumer is the one to lose.

Agreed. I think one pre-order is acceptable since most of the fans will pre-order anyway. Like the Grunt skull for Halo Anniversary. That was pretty cool. What I hate most about this is that the completionists had to either pre-order from multiple retailers, purchase standalone codes from eBay, or just miss out, which is not a nice way to treat the fans in my opinion.

However, the main pre-order armor I think really needs to be considered is Deadeye/Locus, since they’re not skins, they’re actually armor pieces people have lost out on. At least with the other pre-order armor they’re just skins and people have access to the regular versions of the armor itself through in-game commendations.

I also think Fotus and Recruit Prime should stay exclusive to those products. If people want them badly enough they can still buy the products.

Yea, i really want the Lightrifle skin. But i’m afraid it will never be in my possession.

(Just keep hoping, just like the Recon helmet in Halo 3.)

the only skin i really want is the pulse gungner skin

I doubt they’d release the armor that easily. It will more than likely be some type of challenge such as “unlock deadeye by mastering this or w/e!” You get the point :stuck_out_tongue:

343 have plans to release Deadeye and Locus to everyone who’s played Halo4 before the sandbox balancing update - a sort of thanks for bearing with us.

They however are keeping a list of people that keep asking for it and they will NOT be receiving the helmet codes.

Also remember to have the marketing & promotion emails/messages option set to yes/open.

Your gamertags have been recorded and omitted from the upcoming promotion.

Wait, what do you mean “sandbox update”? If someone could clarify this for me, that would be greatly appreciated. On topic, I think Deadeye and Locus should become available to everyone in the near future. The option of only getting one is just stupid.

I can’t tell if this is true or not, but intresting. Going to be keeping an ear/eye out for mail. Lol Good game, a few tweaks here and there.

If it’s true then April 28th I believe is the sandbox TU, quite a few fans might be relieved to have the armor.

I paid £15 for my deadeye on eBay. I mean its not the wisest way to spend my money but I have enough to warrant the occasional stupid purchase!

It’s not like its going to waste though, I think I like Deadeye even more than Recon and Pilot. And thats saying something.

Keep exclusives just that, exclusive.
