Hello fellow Halo players, i just wanted to share a theory ig mine on what the dead spartans on Lone Wolf represent. I first got this idea after watching a video about the “Noble 14” who were the last players to play halo 2 on xbox live after support ended on April 15, 2010. If you didn’t know on the last mission of Halo Reach, their are 13 dead Spartan bodies laying around the map and after Six dies that would make it 14. The fact this parallels the noble 14 so much and that Reach came out only 5 months later is why i believe it all lines up too perfectly to be a coincidence. First off the last of the Noble 14 to stay online, Apache N4SIR and Noble Six parallel each other in that both were the last of their members to fall and held out till the end in a situation that would lead to the end of the road no matter what. Also their falls both meant the end of something, Apache going offline meant the end of Halo 2 Xbox Live while Noble Six’s death represented the true fall of reach. Secondly Bungie would’ve had 5 months to add these spartans into the game after these events and it would be a nice tribute to them sinc they showed Bungie how truly passionate they were about Halo. Anyways i know this was probably pretty long to read through and not really a relevant topic but i hope you still found this theory of mine interesting!
That is quite a good theory. I certainly would have never thought of connecting the two.
Good observation! But by “dead Spartans” don’t you mean “missing”?
“Don’t you know Spartans never die?”-Kurt Ambrose
That could be true
Interesting theory for sure! Agreed, it seems like a big coincidence. If the parallels continue, we could potentially see OG Xbox Live make a comeback like 30 years from now
Wow, I never even thought of that. And to think every time I saw those dead Spartans on Lone Wolf I would melee their bodies…
That’s sweet! I used to play that level to see how long I could last, we also used to search the battlefield for easter eggs. So we played it a lot. Cool to think about it like that?
Daaang, just today I was thinking that CQB near the gattling gun was Samuel-034 but this takes it to another level!!
Awesome theory! I always just assumed it was another few teams of Spartan IIIs deployed to Reach in a similar manner to Noble but were all redirected and ordered to defend that particular area for some reason but unfortunately all perished.
Halo 5 should keep it to lone wolf
Hmm…after drinking my coffee whilst reading this theory. Is a good theory. You should get some coffee to.
Could be coincidence but that’s super cool If it’s true
That is such a coincidental theory and it does seriously warm my heart if that were the case…
But lets face it… Reach was a failsafe for Bungie. Microsoft needed one final project from them before they were out the door and they probably more than likely already had the last level finished before that time period as most triple A development teams tend to finish the first and last levels respectively to get a decent plot point across for missiona between them. But hey, I was not apart of the development team and I was just a kid making ever lasting memories on halo 3 MP during the time. Dont listen to my negative smart a** remarks.
