“May I speak to Squad Nevada, Corporal?” said the Colonel in a commanding tone. “Sir… of course sir.” said the Corporal. “Colonel Attsion wants to talk to you” said the Corporal, handing over the mic. “Alright, link me up to a Private Channel with the Colonel, pass code is 126497, Captain John, leader of O.D.S.T. Squad Nevada.” said John. “Alright then, I’m patching you through to him.” said the Corporal. “Thanks Corporal, you can go to the mess hole, now.” said the Colonel. “So Captain… how have you been?” said the Colonel. “Not as good as I would hope, I lost more than half my squad, all in a single firefight, the odds were… against us… only Katie and I made it out alive with our squad’s Falcon.” said John in a somewhat mournful voice. “It’s an unfortunate event Captain, but that’s not what I called you here for, I called you here for another reason.” said the Colonel. “Let me guess, the covenant?” said the Captain. “Precisely Captain … they’re knocking on every city’s doorstep, and then they just come in the city and…” “Kill everyone.” said John, finishing the Colonel’s sentence
“And this probably is when Katie and I come in, am I right, sir.” said John. “You are correct Captain, I’m sending you to New Alexandria’s Beachhead to hold off the Covenant, that is, if you can go if you think you’re up to the task.” said the Colonel. “We are, sir, and when do we leave, sir.” said Katie, suddenly and formally speaking. “You need to leave ETA ten minutes, hope to hear from you again, Nevada, Colonel over and out.” said the Colonel, patching out. “Well….
Should we take a drive or fly” said John. “You’re the Captain, sir, but… I REALLY hate flying, sir…” said Katie… “Alright then, road trip it is…” said John.

A falcon lands at the landing pad at base, and a Spartan comes out not two, just one roughened up Spartan. “Hey Spartan, where’s your… friend… cause I’m ALMOST sure I sent TWO Spartans out on a mission, not one Spartan.” said the Commander. “Sorry to confuse you Commander, but… my partner, Sam, is dead.” said Daniel, the now lone wolf Spartan. “Cause of Death?” said the Commander. “Plasma burns, killer stuff.” said Daniel. “Sorry about your loss Major.” said the Commander. “Thanks sir, but it happens on the battlefield, sir, but why am I talking to you right now?” said Daniel, confused. “You’re talking to me to give me a report on your mission, but… I need you to do something for me… I need you to go to New Alexandria, and assist the U.N.S.C’s marines.” said the Commander. “Sir, yes, sir.” said Daniel. There is then a pause… “Ok then, your ride is waiting.” said the Commander. The Spartan starts walking away, but then is stopped for a second by the Commander. “And one more thing” said the Commander, “Who… killed your partner?” “A Spec Ops Elite, black and white… another covie not knowing who he’s messing with.” said Daniel… There is another pause “So are you going to do anything about it.” said the Commander. “Well… of course sir, but he won’t know who hit him…” “…well, I need to fly, sir.” said Daniel. Then Daniel walks away, to the landing pad to catch his ride. “Good luck Spartan,” “Good luck…” said the Commander as Daniel walks away.
