Anyone know if there will be a day one update for halo 5 guardians after it has installed?
the 20GB halo mcc update killed my internet …
If there is it better release before the game unlocks. I don’t want to stay up until midnight only to find I have to download a patch that will take 10 hours to download.
edit: to answer your question. Nothing has been said, but it’s more than likely that yes, there will be a day one patch (as with pretty much every game)
Most likely there will be a patch, I think pretty much all games now have one. It does not matter to me though as I buy digital and preload the game so any updates etc are always done before I play the game upon release.

The 20Gb patch for MCC was containing the multiplayer and everything else that couldn’t fit onto the one disc. Given that Halo 5 is one game and not 4, it’s unlikely space is going to be an issue so a patch of that nature is highly unlikely. That said, there maybe a small patch as issues arise on launch that can be fixed quick
I’m getting digital so its not really an issue for me. Get the game a week early to pre-install and then day one update before the launch of the game. Thats the way to go lol.
I would expect it not to be that big though for physical owners. Mcc had a huge content because it lacked a lot and was trying to do to much in one. Halo 5 should be way better since its one game and not 5 in one.

Almost assuredly there will be a Day 1 patch. Most major games today have them.
What I want to know, is whether or not the OFFLINE CAMPAIGN will be playable from launch WITHOUT the day one 9 GB patch or if it’s going to say “You must update before playing.”
Believe they said there will be a 9gb update if you by physical. To download finalized multiplayer maps/content?
Digital I think will have pre-downloaded it, so it’ll be ready to go.
If you have a digital copy the day one 9gb patch will available to download on the 22nd but if you get the disk then you will download the patch after its installed on the console
