Does the digital version of Halo 5 require the Day one patch?

Thanks! Just checked the file size and its 54.8 GB

So my file size says 54.8 GB but when I tried to launch the game it said I had a 50GB update.

I’m so confused.

I had the game fully pre-installed as required 54GB +… Upon game launch however- I needed another update.
