Heard there may be a way to pre download a patch for Halo 5 for anyone getting a hardcopy, so you are ready to go day 1.

Unfortunately no. If you’re buying a physical disc then all you can do when you get home is wait for it to install THEN wait for the patch to download and install as well. If you want to bypass all that nonsense and jump right in on Day 1, go digital. You’ll be able to download the game and patch this Thursday (October 22) but it will remained locked until launch day. Once the time comes it’ll unlock and you’re ready to go!

Yeah same here. I have some credit at Gamestop and some games I wanna trade so I’m not actually spending any money. Plus I work 730am-5pm Monday thru Friday so I’m gonna pick up my copy during my lunch, take it home and start the install. My wife will make sure it installs and will be ready for me when I get home
Lucky I got the console (digital copy) AND the LCE (comes with disk in Aus).
Was gonna sell the digital copy, but reckon I’ll keep it as I took Tuesday off work. Damn it!

Awesome wife to do that for you. Mine has done similar for MCC… although that took ages! Two days I think lol.
Wasn’t going to get the console, only pre ordered last week. Halo is the only game I spend money on, hell it’s about the only game I play. I would get a PS4 if it weren’t for Halo lol

The LCE comes with the digital code AND the physical disk. (Yeah, two copies day one, I know, AWESOME!)

Not in Aus. They changed the digital for CD.

The disk is actually a pre-order bonus in NZ. So I’m pretty sure its the code and Game, or else I’m going to be pissed if its just the disk.
I’ve actually booked the book off work and I’m going to pick it up midnight so it’s not too much of a bother to wait. I’d always rather have the physical copy than a digital one.
Good news, you will (probably) be able to play campaign and customize your character while downloading the patch.
Bad news, if you are a multiplayer fanatic, you’ll have to wait a while.

Yeah, you might be able to dabble around the menus and MAYBE play some campaign missions as it downloads.
