Dawn (Campaign) Not working

Hey guys,

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, sorry if it’s not.

So my problem is Dawn won’t work for me (First mission of the campaign.) I completed the whole campaign previously on heroic with no problems, and decided to play through on legendary.

But Dawn wouldn’t load this time. So i decided to start from the next mission and come back to it later, thinking it was a temporary glitch.

Now I’ve just completed 7/8 missions on legendary and Dawn still won’t load. It just says “Players failed to load content. A player may be missing downloadable content.” It’s weird because like I said I completed it before on heroic. I don’t know how to redownload content or anything.

Is this a common problem and is there any fix? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Same thing happened to my friend don’t know how to fix it. Maybe you scratchd your disc

This is actually a common problem, read this, might help you in some way.

@avcusa2000 - I take really good care of my discs and I’ve had this since February I think - it has absolutely no scratches on it.

I don’t suppose 343 has addressed this issue yet? Seems a pretty common issue.

You should try contacting 343, or try the 1st and 2nd options on the link I gave you, 1-Internet and server issues and 2-Corrupted data. Otherwise I can’t actually find any possible soloutions, I guess you have to research some more. But the problem is that you already cleared it on Heroic, I don’t understand why it wouldn’t work on Legendary. It’s sad that this even happens, 343 should have fixed this problem until now if it isn’t some sort of faulty disc.

Try it on co-op inv a friend then try on your own

Just thought I’d say that whenever I clear the cache, Dawn loads to 45% and then fails.

That has been happening a lot and I tried to fix it by deleting all of my Halo 4 DLC off my hard drive, but then when that didn’t work I tried to re-download them and it wouldn’t let me play any game that had DLC. I re-downloaded my profile and then it worked fine. Very strange…

  • Delete your profile off of your HDD(Don’t know if it’s necessary, but I usually do).
  • Bring up the dashboard from your controller, click on Recover/Download account.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

Although I think I’ve narrowed it down to either the disc is being faulty or the disc reader is being faulty. I tried to install the CD and it fails at 45% just like when I clear the cache and try to load Dawn.

It’s annoying because like I mentioned, I did the mission before. :confused:

I don’t know, if I figure it out I’ll post the outcome, and anyone can message me if they have any info they could tell me. :slight_smile:
