I posted in a different thread a couple of days ago, but since my issue seems to be different, I’m making my own.
I’ve had the game since launch and it suddenly stopped working a couple of days ago, giving error code 0x87de07d1 (“Do you own this game or app?”). I uninstalled it and attempted to reinstall. It got to 100%, but then sat in my queue with the option to resume installation, which did nothing. Spoke to Xbox support and was told this is a known problem with the game and that they’re cooperating with 343 to resolve it. Told me to contact 343 support.
I managed to make the game playable again, but the same problem has recurred and now I can’t fix it. Whenever it goes wrong, my daughter’s profile seems to be involved.
This is what I thought resolved the problem last time: taking the console offline, uninstalling, reinstalling, launching game, going online. After that it synced game data or something. Strangely, the sync failed when Kinect detected my daughter and signed her in, but was resolved as soon as I signed her out. I was able to play the game and so was my son under his profile. After my daughter played Destiny under her profile, I tried to play MCC again and received the “Do you own this game or app?” error again.
What I thought I did last time to resolve this isn’t working this time. Now if I’m not online I get error 0x80820002 “Restart the app, then try again”. If I’m online, the game installs to 100%, but won’t launch as described above.
Edit: Error 0x80820002 was occurring while offline and not signed in. I just signed in (still offline) and the game has installed. I suspect the game will be playable again once it’s downloaded the required updates, but that this issue will return if I allow my daughter to use my console.
Can I have some customer support, please? If this isn’t the right place to get that, can someone direct me to the right place?
