What direction are you taking? What basically are you gonna do for the story? Are we going back to classic play or keeping the new? Or is it both?
We know hardly ANYTHING right now and it’s been a decent while since the confirming of Halo 5 so can we please have a tidbit of news? We’ve talked so much already. Some details would really be nice right now. Seriously, I’m wetting my pants in anticipation.

That’s the point. They want you to anticipate, to expect, so that when they finally release some juicy tidbit, it will seem all the more juicy.
Be patient. When they feel like they wish to share, they will.
They’d be wise to do it quickly. Fans are expecting a revival. and unless 343 start talking, then they can expect some pretty p’d off fans.
Personally though, i believe they will wait for some sort of panel before they let anything slip.

Dude, relax you waited roughly 5 yrs to continue the story of Halo 3 to Halo 4 I think you can wait. The direction for the game is a good question, who knows we’ll just have to wait. I don’t think its a good idea to release a lot of information with the story because last time they spoiled the ending and most of campaign. Minimal info at most for story. As for MP they need to release a lot of info on that to have everyone’s trust back and that their making the right decisions for the MP.

Weren’t we expecting a revival in the story after hearing about Halo 4? That’s the point we were expecting to be spoon fed all the info and in the end it spoiled most of the campaign and MP.
The game still has about a year to go before it actually comes out. Don’t expect anything until after the new year, maybe at the Spike VGAs.
Seriously. You people -Yoink!- on Halo 4, 343, Microsoft, the Xbox One, but demand some sort of information about a game you’re undoubtedly going to hate on for one thing or another when there’s nothing solid to show off yet.

Who said i was talking about the story? I meant matchmaking. This can only happen if a beta is released with a few minor details on the side. 343 thought that focusing on the campaign alone would please the fans and were perhaps negligent with multiplayer, for Halo 4. This time, you can pretty much guarantee that they won’t be doing that again.
The story for Halo 4 was not bad at all. It had many plotholes, but still managed to work wonders (for me anyway).

I agree very much. They did reveal too much about the story before we even played it, so some multiplayer news would be nice.

I agree a beta would do good, but at least they tried fixing MP in a attempt to please people. Well, they’ve been taking care of MP better than Campaign. (To do the fact they were releasing all those updates over a span of 7 months plus.)
I don’t expect news until November-ish. But what I do expect is a confirmed name. Right now its still officially “Halo Xbox One” they need to just change it to “Halo 5” already.
Funny thing is the teaser might not even be so related to the full game maybe it was just a fast concept to it.
They didn’t name it 5 yet as fans would of screamed “It’s too soon!” Blah blah when in reality 343i started work on 5 just before 4’s release as well as their team has grown larger too.
You think this is bad? They made us wait until March for anything on Halo 4. Even looking back on it I still think that was a load of crap.
They should show a trailer at the VGAs. It’s the perfect time; long enough to get the hype going, it’s a big event, and it won’t be so long a wait that we stop caring, which is what started to happen with Halo 4.

Technically no. In those 5 years, we got ODST and Reach to occupy our time.
And as for the story, I don’t want specifics at all. Just a basic plot summary that one would put out on an Amazon listing for the game. That would be enough. No, the sandbox/multiplayer is what I’m most anxious to see details about.

False. I’ve done NO such thing. Quite the opposite actually. I’ve been trying to support Halo 4 at least somewhat. Same for the XOne.

Agreed
This is from a thread I was going to make"
> This is more of a question for 343i employees, and the question is simple. When will/can you start feeding us some information about story/multiplayer?
>
> I get the impression that it might be a while still, considering the game hasn’t been given an official name yet. But the sooner you give us information is the sooner you can involve your community means we can give constructive feedback in specific areas.
>
>
> You have gone dark on us before and shut the community out in development in Halo 4 which lead to the loss of key multiplayer features and drastic changes.
>
> Now I don’t know if that’s the norm with developing games from other developers, being tight-lipped in development and only showing the community finalized products which can’t be changed.
>
> I’m not naive in thinking that if the community is included in the thought and dev process that it would end in a perfect product, but keeping us on board on some of the stuff must be useful in some ways; if we were included on Halo 4’s dev process the game would have likely at least retained some of the old settings in forge like dropping the flag/classic flag as well as an arena slayer game type + the lost gametype settings.
>
>
> With that said, when do you all think we will get some information? And what are some of the gametypes and playlists do you want?
I wouldn’t expect anything to between December-March as much as I would want something now would be a lil too soon
You remember Halo 4, right?
Yeah, we’ll probably get that again; maybe with the exception being that they show something at the VGAs.
Dude just be patient, E3 is just a week away so perhaps then but don’t hold your breath… earliest to expect anything would be in November/December but I would assume that 343 Industries will hold out till the Summer Holidays and release something teasery or anticipating then building the hype for the release year.
EDIT: Not E3 but EB expo sorry.

Hate to burst your bubble, but we most likely won’t get anything until E3 next year. If we’re lucky, we’ll get something in March about a beta. But until then, I most certainly doubt we aren’t getting anything for a while. They do this with every Halo.
