For 343 to add a darker shade of each color column under the customization.
(Dark red, dark blue, dark green, dark orange, dark purple…)
So armor doesn’t match your suit and camouflage together.
So you can more clearly see armor, without sacrificing visability /target acquisition of color suits.
Colored undersuits increase player visability and target acquisition.
*but sacrifice aesthetics, and armor identification
Black undersuits: contrast your armor color and look better.
*slight loss of visibility and target lock
Solition: darken the team color on the undersuit to have the best of both.
I’ve just got to ask: why is “(NEW)” in the title? And do these apostrophes have purpose? I feel like there’s a coded message here or something.

Anyway, I find the undersuits perfectly acceptable. In fact I haven’t had the urge to change my undersuits once, nor have I really noticed it. But I acknowledge there is a demand for black/customizable undersuits, it just doesn’t interest me.
Interesting idea. I don’t care much what they do with team colors but I still think the color of all of the undersuit should be customizable. My perspective is informed by the idea of giving players control over what their Spartan looks like. All black undersuits go against that principle, but if they were fully customizable, then people who want them to be all black could have them that way.
The fact that I can’t change the black parts of the undersuit actually gets quite annoying, because it doesn’t allow me to choose two colors for my outfit if one of those colors isn’t black. That’s why I find myself often choosing pepper for a primary color, so it can blend in with those parts of the undersuit. I don’t like having to do that and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
I think that’s why the white paint on so many armors was poorly received; it went against the principle of giving players control over how they can have their Spartans colored. Black undersuits would be doing essentially the same thing (and they already are, for what parts of them are always black). So, I think a good idea would be to combine that with your idea: let everyone color their entire Spartan, but for team colors, darken the undersuit.
I think they should just allow you to fully customize. If someone wants a pink undersuit why not let them?
New just means it isn’t an idea I’ve seen elsewhere.
Not annother back suit thread.

Mostly focusing on Team games where color is forced.
And your suit being the exact shade of color as your armor tags away from it. (Camouflage)

Though I would like a red undersuit and black armor in FFA.
I don’t think you should be able to customize the undersuit. Especially if the color would carry over into team matches. I’m just thinking about a game of Warzone where it looks like an assault team full of Spartan confetti just dropped into battle. No thanks.

Not custom unless it’s free for all.
Just darker team color for the undersuit in team modes.
Current:
Red armor, same color undersuit, 1 shade darker secondary.
New team color would be
red armor, dark secondary and new darker shade of red undersuit.

If it’s FFA I wouldn’t mind it. But in any team based mode it would get pretty ridiculous pretty fast.

I don’t think Forge Play’s idea would get ridiculous because it would just be more, darker, team colors on the undersuit. It wouldn’t create a “Spartan confetti” situation. In my opinion, being able to customize the undersuit is important, and there are ways to allow players to do so without letting that clash with team colors.
Just add full customisation. It’s ridiculous that older titles did this better , we should have more choice and better individuality from our options then ever before but instead we get the choice of helmets and armour. Just two options with hundreds of variations which are mainly hideous. Cmon 343 seriously/ that’s lazy lack luster design. If you are one of the people that are now about to say 343 were being pressurised to get the game released then I say to you … aren’t all game developers? Didn’t previous halo games feel the pressure of the release date looming up and they managed some decent customisation options? Also this should really be a given because the developers should of looked at for example halo reach and said well there’s the blue print let’s just add x,y and z then that’s done and now we can move onto … simple I’m obviously not a game designer but the thought process the direction and decision making process is should be glaringly obvious.

Why was this never a problem until Halo 4 & 5?
Actually, I think Halo 6 should go more in depth. Not just change your undersuit color, but customize the person as well
I think a black tech suit would be fine. If a player cannot identify teammates by the markers over their heads and gamertag then that is on the player.
I see your point. The spartans in game are too fast for me to see the undersuit. Plus, my TV doesn’t give me enough details to notice it either. I don’t really care for the undersuit as a result.
The only benefit I see from a darker undersuit is a photo shoot.

Forge Play is suggesting a new feature, not necessarily saying the lack of that feature was a problem. Although personally, ever since Halo Reach I kind of wished I could change the colors for my entire Spartan, so I suppose you could say it was a problem before Halo 4 and 5.

However, it’s not fine for players such as myself who wish to dress up our Spartans without having to wear any black. Many players like to show off stylish outfits for their Spartans in the pre-game lobby (provided there is one), gamercard, Waypoint profile, and other places where their armor colors and stance can be seen by other players. Remember this is about more than just identifying teammates.

Like I said, this is about more than just seeing other players during matches. Lots of people want to have more control over their Spartan’s color in the pre-game lobby (provided there is one), gamercard, Waypoint profile, and other places where their armor colors and stance can be seen by other players. You may not care about undersuits, but many people do.

When you paint the undersuit the same color as the body armor…
It looks like the same part.
Why should I try to unlock different armor if it all looks the same because of the undersuit?
Contrast vs camouflage…

Because halo 4/5 have colored suits…
All prior halo games have black.
**“Darker” suits you see the armor first.**Colored suits you see a suit blending In with the armor because they are the same hue/ shade.

I think I misunderstood what OP was talking about. Personally, I’m partial to black undersuits.
343i, let us just change everything we want on the characters we put hundreds of hours on. Im not asking for GTA5 level customizing but -Yoink!- it would be a good start.
I elect that we have black for the undersuits in team based modes, and customizable colors everywhere else.
If you can’t see a Blue enemy from across the map when you’re Red, we’ve got a problem. Having same colored undersuits in team based modes just make all Spartans look like a blob of color. You’ve got to get close to an enemy to see what the armor actually looks like. If I’ve got some cool armor, I want my opponents to be able to see it properly.
We’ve also got to fix the starting visor, but that’s a can of worms for another day.
