I’m fine with having Daniel Cudmore wear the suit, just as long as Steve Downes will be the voice.
John is 21 at the time of the series. Or at least the beginning of the series. Steve Downes sounds like a growly older man, not a 21 year old “kid”. Liam Neeson is nothing like John in any respect.
If they aren’t using Daniel as the voice, then they should get someone who sounds like a younger Steve Downes, not Steve Downes himself.
Nah, they should still use Steve Downes, just with the proper pitch shifting and other audio effects to make his voice sound younger. Frankly, I’m just not sure Daniel Cudmore could hack it voice wise.

Do you have anything to suggest that that actually works? If it’s completely convincing, that’s fine, but do you have any examples of that?

Dude, here’s the problem with Laim. He’s an old guy, he may be a inch shorter than Daniel, but if you stand them next to each other, which looks more chief like? The man who played Handable in the A team movie? or the guy who played Colossus from the X-Man movies?

Liam is a god, he can take on any form and use any voice he chooses!
(I live a couple of miles from his home town, theres more people who sound like him :o)

The ODST trailer had it right where the recruits in training were obviously smaller than veteran troopers, but believable as a military training unit.

Yeah, well it looks bad when you’re wearing ACUs that are generally baggy on you.
Basic training, most of the younger guys look like little kids because of their hair cuts, stress, and the fact that CIF issues them baggy clothing.

Hmm, Liam Neeson is a pretty tall actor, he would be awesome as Jedi Chief, uhm Master Chief I mean.

Cardio is a big factor that prevents someone from getting huge. Plus big muscles use up a lot of valuable energy which is very important considering these guys aren’t able to eat anything on the field. How do I know this? Both my Dad and Granddad were in the military (pretty high ranked) and they both looked scrawny.

I’m pretty sure they are indeed meant to be kids, you know like airforce or army cadets?
As long as they do it like Darth Vader. One actor for the physical presence (Daniel Cudmore) and another for the voice (Steve Downes).

Liam Neeson may not have the looks, but what he does have are a very particular set of skills; skills he has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make him a nightmare for people like the Covenant. If you let him play Master Chief, that’ll be the end of it. He will not look for you, he will not pursue you. But if you don’t let him play Master Chief, he will look for you, he will find you, and he will kill you.
