Damn it, 343! Remove booting from Grifball!

So I’m a bit upset right now. See, if there’s anything I’m critically against, it’s quitters. I just absolutely hate the people that have to ruin the game for others because they can’t stand to fight back a losing match. Of the 500+ games I put into Halo 5, I’ve never quit one game, meaning I have zero DNFs. Well, until now; now, I have one, which really frustrates me.

I got booted from a Grifball game because I betrayed a teammate. Do I even need to explain why this is a problem, or why 343 should have thought this out before releasing this update to the public? Betraying has become synonymous with Grifball, it just happens because the Gravity Hammer is OP and your teammates will always be all over the place. Why the hell can you get booted so easily? If this is the case, I don’t want to play Grifball anymore due to this ridiculous paranoia. Does this mean I don’t like Halo 5’s Grifball? No, not at all. In fact, I think this version is the best one in the franchise. It plays extremely well, and I much prefer the continuous pace as opposed to the round-based matches in the past. And that’s what pisses me off the most: I get my favorite Grifball variant yet I can’t play it because I’ll probably get booted in half of my matches.

I like you, 343, I really do, Halo 5 is one of my favorite multiplayer games, but sometimes the decisions you make leave me speechless. What made you think letting the booting system work in Grifball of all game-types was a good idea! Please, remove friendly fire so I don’t have to kill any of my teammates and get unfairly kicked out for it.

And I was getting so many kills in the match I was booted from, too.

EDIT: Okay, it’s better to remove betrayal booting instead of friendly fire.

Grifball has always had friendly fire. Id love for it to be done away with as well but it wont.

Then remove the option to boot players, obviously.

Friendly fire is fine. It’s the betrayal boot that needs the ban hammer in this game type.

people need to learn it is not good to boot teammates because it gives the enemy’s a huge advantage

Unfortunately this is the Internet we’re dealing with here and some people are giant yoinks on here so good luck with that lol

I have probably betrayed 1 person in the time I’ve played so far. Its not hard to not swing like a mad man and kill your teammates. You also have to betray multiple times in a game before they get the option…maybe you shouldn’t carelessly swing away.

I believe you need to betray a person twice for them to get to option to boot you. But listen, whether you like it or not, the fact of the matter is that betraying is extremely common in Grifball, which is why booting was disabled in 4 and Reach, so please understand that it’s better to do what’s rational and beneficial for everyone instead of giving me advice on how to play.

Also, sorry if I rub you the wrong way, but I’m extremely pissed off right now.

I had someone betray me twice, TWICE!!! That’s it, and it gave me the option to boot him. One of those times was my fault, I stepped in front of him. No one should be booted for betrayals in griffball. You are clueless as to what you’re talking about. The idiocy of 343 in this situation is astounding.

Firs grifball game I played got booted for betraying. Won’t be playing anymore.

No,

Betrayal booting needs to stay, what needs to happen is just to increase the threshiold to 5 i think 5 betrayals are no accident.

But removing betrayal booting would open the floodgates for people to troll and just betray over and over without repercussions.

Or, leave the booting option in for those players that are obviously just team killing (ran into two already), but please move the default option in the booting menu to default highlighting DISMISS. This way you don’t accidentally boot someone when that dialog pops up. But leave it for when it is actually needed.

I had heard they were removing it.

I totally agree there will be a lot of team accidents so to say so just let it be 343. But i so have to say i have seen a large decrees in players that kill their own teammates because they are losing.

My thoughts exactly, mate.

Is anyone else having an issue with getting kicked because of server issues right at the end of the game? Not only have a gotten booted for accidental betrayals, but also get the banhammer for half an hour because the game decided to kick me. Which apparently server issues are equivalent to manual quitting.

They are working on a fix to it right now.

edit:read a little more closely now lol so never-mind i cant tell you have my times ive accidentally betrayed teammates because like blind people they jump right in the way.
