Damaged Infinity your theories

This is something I’m curious to hear what theories people have come up with about this.

My guess is that some large entity is on the brink of destroying the galaxy again. Probably Flood, at least Extra-Galactic in origin relating to Precurosor/Forerunner tech. ONI is aware of the imminent threat and the Chief possibly learned of a False-Flag attack ONI is planning. Due to the rise in “Inny” activity, ONI wants to unite the Humans again to ward off this threat.

This threat will probably be fully realized in 6, while 5 is mostly about Chief fighting off Locke/ONI in his search for self-enlightenment. A path that was increasingly muddled as he learn’s of ONI’s secrets.

I could be way off base, but if this is a false-flag attack, Chief helps repel The Infinity from carrying out its mission.

blue team, if i had money i’d put it on blue team.

or gremlins

heck, It could also have been the Arbiters fleet/flagship, (based on the Halo 2 Anniversary cut-scene) though this scenario is unlikely. Though Locke could have found a way somehow to manipulate the Arbiter.

Why the fack would Locke manipulate the arbiter to attack the flagship of the UNSC?

Because having a resource like that behind him while HUNTING the Master Chief would be helpful, plus we all know Lasky would most likely side with the Master Chief even though he’s AWOL and as I said it’s a THEORY that I threw out their randomly. No evidence to it whatsoever. :stuck_out_tongue:

Insurrection I think. Or Forerunners. Or Flood.

I’m leaning with forerunners, Jul mdama, or insurrection. Definitely not flood. I don’t think we’ll see them until after halo 6 I hope.

All of this speculation is fun.

It’s really hard for me to say why it’s damaged and who did it.

Are the insurrectionists even still a thing? Forgive me, I haven’t read the books

I would say with the help of Halsey the Storm Covs are able to defeat Infinty and Cheif refuses to kill Halsey which is why Cheif and Locke are fighting

yeah, they are.

I like to think that the Didact (who was recently digitized in the Escalation series), wormed his way into the Infinity’s engines (which are Forerunner tech) and took them over. As evidenced in Spartan Ops, Infinity’s engines can communicate with the other functions of the ship. So the Didact takes over the engines, then spreads a “Didact Virus” throughout Infinity, gaining complete control over the UNSC’s largest and most powerful ship. Bad news. The UNSC calls on the Arbiter for Elite support in taking down the “Infinidact” (my celebrity couple name for it), resulting in the plasma burns as seen in both trailers.

I think it could be the Forerunner machine we saw in the e3 2013 trailer and the H2A prologue/epilog cinematics.

I’m pretty sure that’s mendicant bias, or a war sphinx.

Not a War Sphinx, already been confirmed by 343. Mendicant Bias? We still have no idea if he’ll be in the game, but that is still a really popular theory. But if it were him, that would be one hell of a casing he’s in now.
