Damage Dealt stat issues

Hi guys,

I’m not entirely sure that this is a bug, but the damage dealt stat appears to only count damage dealt to a target’s health. In addition, grenade kills/damage, some power weapon kills, and headshots of all kinds to not contribute to damage dealt. I’ve only been able to test this in customs, but I’m fairly certain it carries over into arena as well. Here’s what I’ve found so far:

  • Railgun kill (body shot) deals 0 damage and does not contribute to accuracy stat
  • Sniper headshot deals 0 damage and does not contribute to accuracy stat
  • 4 magnum shots to a fully shielded opponent deals 0 damage and does not contribute to accuracy stat
  • Perfect magnum kill deals 0 damage and does not contribute to accuracy stat
  • Grenade damage and kills do not deal damage (I played an entire 1v1 using only grenades, won 10-7 with 0 damage dealt)
  • Melee beatdowns from behind deal 0 damage.

This all means that it’s much easier to rack up damage by spraying an SMG or storm rifle than by getting perfect kills with a precision weapon, which seems strange. I love the damage dealt stat but it seems incomplete if these things aren’t taken into account, so I’m curious if this is a bug or if it’s intentional. While we’re at it, it would be awesome to have a ‘damage sustained’ stat as well.

The whole damage statistics is broken, honestly it should just be a calculator for how much health and shield damage you deal from any damage dealing tool. ie Weapons, Grenades, Vehicles, Spartan Abilities and Misc. The whole implementation and honest to god algorithm is broken and should just be removed post haste.
