Damage Dealt is a new stat in post-game

I always missed hit accuracy from Halo 2, now this is even better.

Just read it when I woke up right now (i’m in sweden)! It’s super good news! I think most people don’t realize how much the whole multiplayer experience can change from just a small change in what you show in stats or don’t show. For instance, this new Damage Dealt will for sure decrease the number of campers. Everyone will see right in the stats how little they did, haha

Great news!

I’m not familiar with this stat, but plenty seem happy for it. I always like stats getting an improvement.

It’s very common in moba’s, and a super useful stat since it shows how much damage you put in on all enemies during the whole game, which pretty much means it shows how much work you’ve done. And as Quinn said, it’s a brand new stat for the Halo franchise, so maybe that’s the reason why you’re not familiar with it.

Nice. Love me some stats. Also is there not a accuracy stat for for each individual weapon in the beta? Can’t remeber if they also appeared after a match.

How exactly is that damage going to be measured? As in, what are the units of damage based off of?

Very nice hopefully it works good with Halo.

The pretty health meters and shots fired we see on the screen as end-users is actually represented by an integer numbers, and working from that, it should be super easy to quantify how much damage each player puts out and takes in. Its all numbers in the programming code underneath the pretty visuals we see. Damage numbers for each shot in an AR, numbers for a grenade, numbers for a melee: everything is numbers. You then just set up some functions and equations and out comes any stat you want.

It’s probably going by weapon damage. For example, a player’s health by default is 100, the sniper rifle is a two shot kill in the chest, so if you shoot someone once, that’ll be 50 points of damage awarded to you in the post game stats.

That is awesome. Love me some stats.

Hopefully Waypoint does a better job of aggregating and displaying stats for Halo 5 than it does for MCC.

Hopefully we get more stats right in the carnage report after each game.

Damage dealt is probably the most important stat in determining who contributed the most to the team.

I also hope that damage received is shown, drawing lots of attention to yourself and staying alive is good for the team, but that never gets shown in stats.

Never played mobas, so that explains. I take a lot of risk in tough Halo matches when trying to get any sort of damage on someone, but it’s rewarding in the end to watch someone finish your severely weakened opponent. Even if I get shot in the back, I still focus on the person ahead and get that kill. Can’t play safe all the time, got to gain back control of the ring, if yah get me. People that think K/D tells the whole story are naive, glad this stat is being added.

I don’t like it. Is it a number? Regardless I don’t like to think of it as damage points but I’m aware it is. I don’t need a reminder. Hopefully it’s not a main stat for everyone to see.

Nah it’s a color

But seriously, It’s a statistic so it’s based off a number at least. What exactly are you not wanting to be reminded of? Whats the point of a statistic if no one else can see it and you ignore it?

I like this, better way to see just how much of an assist a player is getting.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!

YES! I love this! **** YEA!

The more stats I get to stare at either on the computer, or the end of the game. Still loved the heat maps, the getting to look at each death/kill, etc. Love it

things seem to be moving in the right direction!!
