Hey all.
I’ve been trying to think of all the potential rage-inducing mechanics that might be present in Halo 4. I can imagine the Hardlight annoying me, but it’s easy enough to counter, and I’ve been ruminating about Promethean Vision, and all that. But one that really has me wondering are the Boosts that are dropped with Ordinance.
There’s the Overshield. I’m glad that the invincibility aspect is taken out already. Sure, this could irritate, but it’s no different from before. Speed? Not too bad, your still quite killable.
What I’m fretting about is the Damage Boost. I saw in a video, where a guy was using it. I am NOT sure how much the damage is increased by, but from what I roughly see the BR is almost 3 shots to kill. How would that go with other weapons? The length of the Damage Boost is quite generous too, I think. Wouldn’t you just be turned into a crazy, rampaging, red, glowing monster, spawned from hell? What if a whole team got a Damage Boost each? Sure, the chance might not be likely, but who knows?
Preferably, it’ll be cool to get an answer from any guy who has used the Damage Boost so far. Even better, something from 343! Please note, I’m not hatin’. I’m just worried.
Also, I remember reading the Game Informer magazine that Active Camo was in. Is it confirmed? I haven’t seen any use of it so far. Any updates would be appreciated!
Could you provide a link to the video with damage boost? I might have missed it, and am curious.
well its only for a short amount of time, but i do agree with you. to me (have not played it yet) its looks like x2 damage. I’m not sure about the other weapons(because mlg only used the “pro” weapons/ or 343 has only allowed only a small amount of weapons to be shown(not flaming so relax)) as for the rest of your question idk.
Why don’t you test this out in Reach? Put the damage boost powerup in and see how it changes the game.

two different gameplays styles.

and yet, the gametype I’m suggesting is what a lot of people think Halo is about and much closer to Halo: CE.
Pretty sure it makes weapons kill 1 shot sooner so for the BR it’s a 4sk.
In that time frame you stated he has a teammate next to him shooting the same guy.
That’s what I’m hoping. It was a bit messy, so it wasn’t too clear to tell. I don’t know, I already closed the video.
I do hope your right tho, only a little upgrade. Like DMR is a 4 shot instead of a 5.

We’re unaware on how much the damage is actually increased with the powerup, though.
