Daily and Weekly Challenges?

How hard is it to make them unique?

I love this game, despite what a lot of people are saying, but come on, Halo Reach had tons of unique challenges every day and week. Even if one or two were a clone of another challenge, at least they had a different name. These are just the same exact challenges each day/week under the same name.

Just copy and paste the system from Reach!

Contrary to popular belief, copy and pasting code from game to game is not a good idea.

You’re saying if the copied the Challenge system from Reach, it’d make the game worse?

No I’m saying they have to re-code the entire thing. You can’t just say, “Hey let’s use reach’s challenge system! grabs code puts it in halo 4 Done!”

It causes a ton of issues, you can use their code as an example, but just reusing code causes so many bugs it’d make any QA tester want to vomit.

TLDR;

Making games is harder than it looks. You can’t just “copy” something, even from previous titles.

Well yeah, they can’t do it now, because everything’s been finalized. But if they couldn’t make something better from scratch in development, why couldn’t they take the one from Reach and implement it instead? Considering that they also seem to have copied the security systems from Reach, as well as Forge, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch.

Then again, they couldn’t get the File Search system right…

I know games are hard to make; if I didn’t, I’d be like every other cynical gamer who says that a game (such as Halo 4) sucks because it doesn’t live up to their expectations. It just doesn’t make sense to me how you can screw up systems already in place, such as Daily/Weekly Challenges and the File Search system.

Yeah the one’s in Halo 4 are pretty bland and not very challenging.
