Just an idea. So if sprint and “thrusters” are default, whose to say that you can’t flip between them using the D-Pad, or do y’all think they will have new button controls for this idk. I know I can’t use jetpack anyways since I’m bumper jumper (not saying thrusters is jetpack).
They definitely need to use… DAT PAD.
It can be used for up down d-pad and left right can be used for something else. Maybe we will have night vision in campaign again and/or flashlight.

hahaaha DAT PAD!

Hmm lol I’m not sure how to interpret your comment xD.

Interpret it any which way you want. oooooooooohhhhh yeahh.
I would rather see a Jetpackamabob as a pickup, just for balance issues, but the D-Pad idea is great if someone picks up a “thruster” on the map.

Really hoping these “thrusters” are just jump extenders and not a full-fledged jet pack.
OT: I would like to see more use out of the D-pad. If there’s several grenade types, maybe the D-pad could select each type. I really don’t like button cycling if there’s more than 2 options.

Yes. As much as I enjoy hovering over my helpless opponent, jetpack needs a severe change if it is to remain in Halo.
Using the D-pad wouldn’t be the best choice especially in a combat situation, since you would probably have to move your finger from the movement joystick in order to switch. Sprint can stay tied to the LB button, and the thruster could be activated by just holding down A. It would especially make sense if, as MainStringArgs said, the thrusters just increase your jump (which is what I’m hoping for).

I’ll take a flash light, suits chief the best.

Definitely agree. It’s too map-breaking. I miss having strategic routes to dominate. Having complete 3-dimensional dominance, while powerful in the right hands (and believe me, I’m great with the Reach jet pack), needs to be scrapped.
It would be a bad idea to put something important on the D-pad since they are so incredibly bad, sure some got new or custom controllers with working D-pads, but a majority of teh 360 community got the broken ordinary ones. Not to mention you’ll have to move your thumb to use it and hence make yourself immobile or at least unable to aim.

I think the OP meant it more as a “Switch AA’s” button rather than a “Use AA” button, much like how there is both a “Switch Grenades” and “Throw Grenade” button.
I’ve been saying this for months now.
It just makes sense to use the D-pad now. I even posted it here already, just can’t find the post ATM.
I figured we could get something like:
Left: Flashlight/night vision (campaign) Sprint (MM) or First person view if in a vehicle
Right: ???
Down: Go prone in campaign. Crouch in MM (though yes I know we an already press in on the left thumbstick. this however would help those folks who accidentally press down on the thumbstick.)
Up: Jetpack/Thrusters Campaign and MM
I really don’t want 2 AA’s at once way too overpowered.

Well, I was assuming that sprint and thrusters would be default. I also speculated that thrusters wouldn’t function as a full fledged jetpack. It will be that extra jump and will run out quicker in the gauge (A quick and strong thrust).
