Within Infinite’s trailers and merchandise, we’ve seen the long anticipated return of the D-77 Pelican. Along side of it’s return, we have also received confirmation of the appearance of Condors. This comes from the July gameplay reveal, where the pilot insists on salvaging the components of one of the downed gunships. However, there has been little word or indication on whether the D-79 will make a return. Despite the D-77 being the preferred model, is there any chance of the D-79 returning, and how would you implement it?
If they’re already using the D-77 I don’t see why we’d see the D-79. There’s not really a need to have multiple of effectively the same dropship.
The Condor on the other hand has a distinct role.
I wouldn’t count on seeing multiple models of the same vehicle in Infinite.
Personal opinion, I greatly dislike the D-79, so I really hope it doesn’t come back. The D-77 was one of those things that 343 fixed despite not being broken. I’m glad to see the D-77 design return and I hope it stays that way.

My sentiment is similar. Just seems redundant,
Maybe in forge or something but idk.
Personally the D-77 beats out the D-79 any day. However it does make me raise a couple of eyebrows at how quickly the UNSC switched from the D-79 to the D-77 in the course of several months. Perhaps we can see an explanation in the future.

Isn’t the condor based on the DT-79? I think it might appear in that way, but otherwise I’m very happy to see the 77 and have no interest in the DT-79 ever coming back around. Condors are fine, just lemme keep the DT-77 
There’s no garuntee the d-77 won’t be used as the base for the condor due to them going for the old style.
Though I think using the D-79 for the condor would help make it looks more distinct than just being a ‘long pelican’.
