So I suck at this game. Ive read so many post in the old HW forum by people like FJ. Ive watched Batistas videos on youtube but I just suck! I would like to use Cutter in 1v1 and 2v2. I would also like to use elephants whenever possible but they just suck unless you get brute rushed. So my normal build order is ele,SP,turrent. thats as far as I get.lmao i just played a 2v2 where they over ran me with 6 spartan tanks. I never know whether to mass flamers or go straight for tanks. scout, yea i know, but when i see them tech up they always out tech me. so suggestions when using cutter? how do i do build orders and for what occasions?
I am not a Cutter player usually, but I would definitely not start with an Elephant. I also would not build a turret that early unless you are getting rushed. Every game is going to be different, hence why scouting is so important, but I would start with a supply pad or two and then take it from there.
Like was stated earlier the elephant is a fail unit. Don’t mess with it unless A) ur on a 1v1 map with hooks (chasms, blood gulch) or B) u build 3 of them, research defense turret and rush with them ASAP, and even that is more for laughs, its not a high-level strategy.
If ur struggling to win games despite scouting u have more of a Halo Wars issue than a Cutter build order issue. Cutter isnt vastly differnt from other UNSC: build tanks or hogs. Bat1sta’s vids should help. I also noticed sadstone’s youtube channel has many cutter videos.
Like many new players u should make sure ur fundamentally sound. Make sure u always have a building queued as ur building ur base at the start, always build at least 1 extra hog to gather crates, upgrade supply pads, know how to micro and be aggressive most of the time. Halo wars rewards aggressiveness so sitting back building turrets and guarding ur base is usually a fail strat. Unless ur super-turtling, which is really the only thing i do in this game anymore
