Customizing Chief's Armor In Infinite?

Do you guys think we’ll be able to customize chief’s armor in the campaign? The reason why I’m asking this is because when Halo Infinte was first revealed, it showed chief holding his Combat Evolved helmet toward the end. Now he’s depicted with the Halo 3-ish type helmet/armor design.

That’s a change in design between the 2018 reveal and the latest iteration of the helmet. I don’t think we’ll see any customization of Chief because 343 is pretty dead-set on it being his story. Player customization will likely just be multiplayer spartan only

Nope, John prefers sticking to the “default” variant of the latest Mjolnir armor available to him. Maybe, we can have our customizable Spartans on Installation 07 but I don’t see 343 giving us that much freedom with John.

I really don’t see customization of Master Chief’s armor appearance being a thing 343 does, however I can see customizing in the way of an enhanced sensor package or extra ammunition capacity being likely. Other than that it will either be multiplayer Spartans or possibly a customizable character like Noble 6 on Reach.

I’d love to customize Chief honestly. And I’d pay anything to give him back that sweet MJOLNIR Gen 2 from Halo 4/5.

That being that, I’m fine with no customization for the campaign.

Customizing chief would be bizarre.

I think the only level of “customization” for the Chief will be what equipment packages he has in use, or grapple shot, jet pack, etc…
There was so much push back after Halo 4’s reveal on the Chief’s new look, and how it “wasn’t Halo”. Then 343 doubled down on it, and the Chief had a fresh coat of paint and dent removal in his Halo 5 appearance. People clamoured for “the old artstyle” so much that it gained traction throughout Halo 5’s lifecycle that 343i began implementing older armor permutations and weapon variants.

So, as much as I love most of the newer artstyle choices, I understand that the Chief as a 20+ year established look that fans acknowledge as the Chief “iconic” design, and not a lookalike, or a discount version.

In short, having a customizable protagonist is cool, but it would defy the established, and excepted idea and lore of the character.
