If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a thousand times. Okay, well, maybe like 30 times. Reach had my favorite Requisition and Customization features. Don’t get me wrong, Halo 5 has some pretty sweet sets of armor. But I loved being able to have a huge shoulder piece on one side and a tactical one on the other. I guess I liked the in depth customization. What do you guys/girls/others think?
I like in-depth customization, but I feel like there’s a point where it gets too in-depth. Halo Reach felt like it just had too much little stuff going on with its customization system, which is why I prefer Halo 4’s (and even Halo 3’s) schemes.

I can totally see that, yeah. I don’t care so much for legs or forearms. I just liked the Shoulders, Torso, helmets, and Visor. (Strictly speaking in armor customization) and I am always split between whether I like Halo Reach’s or 4’s Unlock system best. Reach makes sense to me and is balanced. But 4 is skill oriented in a way that made sense to me.
It’s been said a thousand times and I’ve always agreed a thousand times. Reach Will always have the best customization
The best customization sistem in my opinion was the one we see in H4 hope to see something like that in H6
well, i like the more detailed customization. The more the merrier (though there is a limit to everything). I liked the reach one simply for its multiple options and gritty look though i preferred the Halo 3 look aesthetically but Reach had just so much more options. A few more customization points wouldnt hurt if they make more detailed customization in the future. In my mind the H5g one has been the worst in the series since even though Halo 2 had only 1 spartan armor model it still had option for elite model and a better emblem customization. So basically its worse than what it was near the start.
I too have said it a thousand times, Reach had the best customization due to its depth and appearance. And the way we unlocked armor in Reach was also the beat. It was done through playing and only playing, you couldn’t buy armor like you can in Halo 5 (buying req packs) and there were achievements you had to do in order to earn armor (CQB and MP) like difficult ultra in campaign. And while yes, Halo 4 did have in depth customization, there were too many of the same armor piece, just different paint schemes. Why? They had to be unlocked via achievements which I thought was cool, but the menu IMO was too confusing, I didn’t bother much with trying. However, I will say that Halo 4 and 5 have some of the best color schemes IMO. I also really liked how you could earn credits through whatever mode you played (campaign, multiplayer, etc) and you could buy INDIVIDUAL armor pieces not the sets that Halo 5 makes you wear at a time. To me, Halo Reach gave some of the best feeling of superiority because armor was earned through long gaming ours, and your Spartan was more able to be depicted as YOU.
P.S Armor effects and firefight voices were the bomb!!!
My favorite all-time customization system is Halo 3. It’s very rewarding, and simple. Unlocking achievements, and collecting skulls for specific pieces of armor is really cool! I like the simplicity and how easy it is to navigate through the menus. It’s only Torso, Shoulders, and Helmet. Plus colorization. I don’t like Reach’s way of customization because there’s too many options, and I can’t pay attention to so many details at once, plus the menus in Reach for customization, matter of fact, hurts my eyes a little bit. And all the little details made to each armor piece, gives me a headache, and it’s too many things to look at.
I hope Halo 6 has a easy customization system to understand, just don’t make it to complex to the point where I won’t know what each option does, where things go, etc. Not saying I don’t like Reach, sure, I like Reach, but I just prefer H3>Reach and how you can customize and optimize other things.
Of course. I hope H6 has a customization AT LEAST as complex as Reach.
I agree
If they reintroduce a Reach level of customization, I certainly won’t complain.
That said, if it’s not in there, I won’t cry about it, either. There are items higher on my personal priority list of things Halo 6 needs to get right, IMO.

I preferred the way how you did custom your Spartan in Halo Reach and the quantity of items.
However, I didn’t like the aspect that you had to buy each item with an in game currency called credits like we do with req points.
Halo 4 had a great system with unlocks because you was forced to earn them through a commendation or ranking up your Spartan. That meant every piece had a value on it’s own other than the look. If you wanted to show that you was able to complete the campaign on Legendary, you could use the Legendary visor and the Mark VI armor.

I do agree, some commendations was pretty hard to complete and this meant you could use the armor to show off completion of your own personal achievements in Halo 4 like completing the Campaign on Legendary or all Weapon Commendations.
Halo 5 do have that with few armors like Achilles and some emblems but not as wide spread sadly.
Reach had the best customization if you wanted to personalize your Spartan.

In Halo 4 I remember I was soooo irritated when I mastered the “Perfection” commendation and all you unlocked for it was hardly noticeable forearms.
I do think Reach had the best customization system. The only thing I wasn’t happy about was that everything always costs so many credits.
Instead of multiple different armours, why not just have different attachments, and skins for the armours. It would reduce the unnecessary amount of shifting through pages of pictures to find the correct armour you want.

I loved reach that was my favorite customization
Definitely! That was great when you could mix and mash.
I don’t think customization needs to be immensely in-depth, Reach customization would definitely be cool but not necessary. A simple system like, legs, arms, torso, helmet, visor, colours and emblem would be more than enough. It’s not like anyone is going to be intensely looking at your character.
