Why? Because its the one aspect that empowers players, and allows them to make improvements to base gameplay. The future of game development is player assisted franchises (in my opinion) and Halo 4 needs more customization options then all the previous Halo games combined.
This is also why it is sooooo important for Halo 4 to finally have what everyone has wanted since the beginning, An unranked Custom Games Browser that most importantly SUPPORTS MODS!!!
Yes I went there. Halo is a series that has recieved some of the coolest mods of all time, but for too long Bungie has played the role of fascist by banning people who are trying to improve the game! This is illogical in every sense of the word, as it halts a key opportunity for the players to move a franchise forward. Valve understands this concept, 343 you must understand it as well.
Remember everyone, the mods would be in Custom Games ONLY. I do not support modding in any MM gametypes. However lets remember that if a modded gametype or map is popular enough, that is incentive to put it into matchmaking.
Mods would never be allowed in any microsoft game. Though i do agree customization should be expanded in Halo 4, modifications should take NO part. You give players an inch, and they will take it to a point where the whole game is broken. And please dont bump posts.
You’re right, customization is very important in games because it allows players to feel unique. On the topic of the custom mode with the mods, that would be a lot of fun because the community could come up with a lot of good ideas. However, it should still stay out of matchmaking in case anything gets out of hand.
I dont like customization. Just gimmi a utility weapon that works, grenades that aren’t too unbalanced, a melee system thats fair, I dont wanna have to unlock and rank a bunch of crap ill never need I never saw the point in that. I wear default reach armor too for the most part, I change the helmet from time to time thats about it.
Oh and mods arent cool I never liked that…personally anyways
I want gametype customisation, sandbox customisation, everything to do with gameplay to be able to be changed how I want it. But Armor? I couldn’t care less. If there was no Armory in Halo 4, I can honestly say I wouldn’t care one bit.
I’m all for customization, as long as its not on the guns, and doesn’t impact the preformance of players of multiplayer games.
No, just no. Spamming customization is a cheap way of trying to compensate for lack of good ideas, as seen in Reach’s Firefight. All the custom options in the world won’t compensate for a beautiful campaign being cut down to the mediocre, rushed, utterly simplistic shells we’ve been seeing lately.
