Customization is key

Alright, so as you probably know, people like to complain. Not that I’m saying complaining is bad, it is used to point out problems that exist in the game, however, like AL (This isn’t an AL thread, please don’t discuss about it here), people find it overpowered. It’s not something that you can just adjust and leave, you have to put up a big update to change something like that. However, what if you can customize settings on specific things? That way, big updates wont be needed to fix unbalanced things and can be used to just fix bugs.

However, these specific options would fit under an “Advanced Settings” option in the menu as to not overwhelm some people.

So the game options for general settings would something like this (NOTE: I only did Armor Abilities here, regardless if they are in the next game. There would be settings for a lot, if not all, in-game things, such as Vehicle Speed, Vehicle Health, Bleedthrough option, Grenade Power, ect.)

absolutely. more customization would mean that even if they fail with the mechanics, we can still tweak them ourselves to play the game we want it to be played. bungie failed with reach IMO, but if we could tweak things such as the DMR’s bloom algorithm, armor abilities like you said, grenade damage / radius / fuse time, and have the option to remove the no bleed melees, the game wouldnt be so bad because we could just play customs.

if you want to make it easier to read, use quote tags to group your ‘topics’, and use bold font also.

Yes Customazation is the key i like the idea of this thread! 343i can make the next halo however they want but they should allow us to tweak alot of things to our liking in custom games. Then like Bungie is doind they can add playlists filled with the most popular variants and mapps and use to voting data to see if any of these customized versions on the default settings works better. Hope this makes sense.

hey bro, i thought about this idea, and i realized that i would pay 200$ for a ‘developers toolkit’ version of the next halo game, maybe even up to 300$ if i could afford it.

hear that 343? you want added incentive for players to spend more money on your next game? give them an extra disc that makes gametypes only, with 100000x more customization, then slap on a +140$ price tag on it. i know i’d be chomping at the bit if i knew this would come out :smiley:

These are the types of things that make a Halo game better, not by adding gimmicks like AA’s and bloom and changing the core of the game we have been used to for 10 years. This would be a amazing feature to have for the next game everything from Weapon Modifiers to more in depth Player traits.

this looks really good nice, job and if say people didn’t like the options they could tweak it and make a whole new game mode that could fix those problems and be incoperated into MM! this would make evryone happy! nice job

that list is fine and all, but they better make sure they have it say

WARNING! if you turn off HIT SCAN you better be playing LAN otherwise the game will be horrible over laggy xbox live.

Nice work Grave, I appreciate you know what is one of the greatest things in video games nowa’ days: Customization. I’ll post some ideas on this post later.

I would like all of the custom options for gametypes. Why can’t we define player species or Juggernaut traits? There are things I’ve forgotten too.
