How do you I’ll think the customization should have worked for your Spartan in Halo Infinite’s here’s how I would have had it work you would be able to change the color of your
Boots
Lower leg
Upper leg
Lower arm
Upper arm
Knee pads
Shoulder pads
Front chest piece
Back chest piece
Helmet
Tech suit
Visor
And lines on the suit if there are any
How would you all have at work and what do you think of this idea of mine
On one hand - I’m sure there would have been some awesome creations.
On the other… a bunch of people trying to create psychedelic vomitus.
I would have the coatings in black and white… and then you buy colour wheels to apply (I’d call them “splashings”).
You can take any coating and combine it once with any splashing.
They could then sell multiples of coatings and splashings to people to put on each of their different armour sets.
Kaching.
I’ve been saying this from the start. Colors never should have been monetized. 343 should have charged for patterns and textures.
Patterns simply rearrange the colors on the armor and each wedge of the color hex corresponds to a part of the armor. This would’ve allowed for things like camo, stripes, flames, more isolated selections (like scorpion punch) or more mundane set ups like we already have.
Note: Not every armor has to allow 6 colors, but I think they should strive to.
And textures are just visuals that change how your armor looks. Muddy, scratched, burned, clean & shiny, energy sword cuts, etc.
And the best part, 343 could have charged double. $X for the patterns and $Y for the textures.
