> The general consensus wants the Halo 3 / Reach customization system back in place. For me, I really want my character to have battle damage.
To expand on that, I would want you to be able to choose where the battle damage was shown and how big the damage would be. For me instead of adding multiple variants of the same helmet, we instead allow people to make their own designs on the helmet using various preset patterns.
I would like it to return to the way reach and halo 4 had their armour customisation, Im not too keen on the way emblems are unlocked aswell but i do like that there are more variety.

Like the way you make your emblem in COD where the patterns can overlap to make a bigger image?

I agree. Some of the helmets are a bit impractical. On the other hand, you could assume they have some sensors or cameras on the outside with a projected image on the inside of the helmets.

Just the base customization of it or for it to be expanded upon, and if playable elites returned should they be the same where it had preset armour for the or something like halo 3

The problem with a lot of these is that, yes, that’s almost definitely the in-lore reasoning for it. However, they don’t really LOOK like something that belongs in Halo. Besides, from a practical standpoint I’m sure a Spartan would want a helmet that they can still see out of if all this fancy HUD display and imaging tech is damaged. Some of these new armours have helmets that look like they would need to just be removed if they were damaged, which is less than ideal in a combat situation.

But if there was ever an EMP, they would be blind then. And that’s another reason why I don’t like Spartan 4s. The other two groups of Spartans knew the importance of not relying on technology, that at any given point it could fail and they’d have to be prepared for it. The fact that if Spartan 4s have sensors in their helmet to do something as basic as help them SEE due to lack of visual from their visor just shows how different their mentalities are and thus their preparedness in battle and style of fighting.

Good thing they’re strong in numbers to make up for it, huh?
It’s not a problem present in every armour design but you’re right, the IIs and IIIs would never have done so well with the same philosophy.
I really want to be able to customize everything like we could in reach and even more, have scarring, come on the Spartan IVs have been through the battle of Requiem and now the events of Halo 5 so we should be able to have some more gritty armor now.
Hopefully if they go with the idea that Cortana is blocking the trading so the UNSC is forced to bring old weapons, vehicles and armor back into play for the canon reason of all the classic weapons and armor being added in through the updates then we can get a mix of new and old armor.
I want custom emblems back, custom HUDs for social playlists would be great, I could see them not putting it in ranked because of the fair start formula and I see that because I love fair starts. also custom skins would be great
Also, if they want to make the armor system good, they’d make all armor unlockable through achievements, and in game currency and levelling up like in halo 3- halo 4, once you have an armor set unlocked, then the variants with different designs, but only a few for the armors would be unlockable through the REQ system, and also have the armor additions like the ear pieces and antennas and stuff like that in the customization options.
Also, I think it would be awesome if instead of just having your Spartan stand there while you alternate armor and customize, have him/her stand on the armor platform like in Halo 4 and Halo 5 This is what i mean
instead of having them just stand on a blue screen, have them in those machines with them putting it on your Spartan.
Honestly, having the ability to customize the face under the helmet would be cool too.
I’ve heard ideas of if you want, you can wander the infinity and walk around it in third or first person like in Destiny in that place where you just meet with other Spartans, just to explore, it increases immersion, if you want to change armor quickly, go to the start menu like halo 5 but still have them in the armor bay, but when youre not in a rush to play a match, you can walk around the infinity, go to the deck of the ship, the armor bay, go look out into space in the hangar, enter into pelicans, walk into a fake simulation room where you see other Spartans, not necessarily real people, but Spartans and marines training, you can have your own “room” so to speak, like what lasky’s room looked like at the academy in forward unto dawn with the bed, and the computer where you can access your service record. if you want to walk around the infinity, you can take off your armor and walk around in your black, and I say BLACK, or CUSTOM, undersuit like Spartans usually do. give us the ability to customize undersuits, to an extent, or just have them black which is what I prefer. better color palette.
I think I’m gonna make a thread about this too because I kinda went off on more than just customization but I definitely know that with the Scorpio, this can all be possible.

Ya your right, it’s not in all armor. I guess what I really want if not Reach style customization, is just plain practicality in all armor especially helmets. And definitely a smaller selection of armor.

I agree, there are too many helmets with no visors, I think that some of them are cool and I like them such as the gungnir, and the gungnir helmet was in reach too but it was the only helmet in reach that didn’t have a visor and I thought it looked amazing
emblem editor with the ability to put custom emblems as clan emblems, on armours, and on weapons, vehicles maybe too for warzone as you spawn in with these.

And why did they feel the need to make so many variants of armor, but no change in the armor itself (attachments). Instead, they have all the different types of armor, but only have different color schemes on them. Color is not that important.

To dilute the ‘loot pool’ that REQ packs pull from and give artificial value to certain ‘rare’ armor pieces with minimal effort.
second layer-wrist L/R
-shoulder plates L/R
-chest plate attachment
-upper leg attachments L/R
-knee guards
helmet-visor
-base helmet
-attachments
extras-male or female
-stances ( I forgot sorry)
-emblems
-varying knives w/ placement options
-particle effects
-extra random cosmetic slot that you can put a scarf, ammo, dog tags, or an item carried on your back like cortana in reach or the nuke in halo 4
-different armor paintjobs so the armor gallery isnt filled with reskins of the same thing

Ya it’s REALLY stupid. It just shows how rushed it was. And the Req system itself is terrible. You could get the coolest gear in the game from your first Req pack. How is that accomplishing?
The type of customization I’d want is a mix of Reach and 4.
Helmet + optional attachment - Shoulders - robot arms (optional) - Chest (various types with and without extra attachments, but no other customization) - Knees - Boots are all kinda the same, so that’s really not necessary - Forearms - Thigh attachment - Maybe a backpack like ODST - Visor keep it simple less than 10 colors please or maybe a color palette - Armor effects/firefight voice - Custom emblems with primary, secondary, and 3rd detail color - Human or Elite or (maybe) Brute - Gender - Stances and assassinations - NO weapon skins it’s always been pointless to me why people want them.

I like the idea of all of these being a possibility. I never thought about the knives and positions, but I like it a lot!
