Customization. Better decreased or increased?

When we were able to customize our Spartans in Halo 3, we flipped in excitement. Customization has become a big staple in Halo. And Halo 5 kinda butchered it. I liked it when in Halo 4 we could change our armor parts to show uniqueness. But Halo 5…come on guys. If 343i announces that Halo 5’s customization will be increased, I will cry tears of joy. What do think? Should Halo 5’s armor customization be increased or decreased? TELL ME!!!

The games already out, so they should probably just let it be. For future ones they should absoltluty increase.

That’s what I’m saying. They most likely won’t change it, but hopefully with enough feedback they will add more in the next one.

Wrong forum section.

You know, I’m not minding less customization. Now there are a lot of colours, armour patterns and mixes. At first I was outraged. Now it makes sense.

Also from a canonical standpoint. Spartans are discouraged to choose based on looks… But, more so, why would Spartans ask for individual knee pads? Sure you could chalk it up to the armour coming like that but the Infinity seems to handle it well.

In my ideal halo game, the armour and emblem customization system would be the same as Halo 3’s system, except you could also change the visor, legs and torso (torso and chest piece would be separate), play as both male and female Spartans and Elites, the armour unlock system would be the same as Halo: Reach, except you don’t have to buy an item after its unlocked, and NO MICROTRANSACTIONS!!! REQS ARE OK, BUT MICROTRANSACTIONS ARE THE DEVIL!!!

Also playable Grunts XD

What I think they should do is give us more customization options (shoulders, legs, arms, etc.), but then take away all of the ugly skin variants of armour. Honestly, why do we need half a dozen variants of Jumpmaster, all with different white/coloured lines splashed across it in a way that looks like a 3 year old came up and just finger painted all over it? Spartans are soldiers, not walking examples of modern art.

Reach had the best armours and customization options. If they could take that, then add on the arms and legs customization from Halo 4, we would be golden.

I like my customization
but I do believe it’s to late for halo 5 to add a lot of customization maybe in future halo games
birfthday armor effect would be amazing

It should increase but not in the sense that they just add another couple hundred emblems, visors, and armour sets that we’ll never use. In fact, replace some of that junk with weapons and vehicles from previous game. Just make the customization similar to Reach’s or at least Halo 4’s.

The thing about customization is that it needs to add variety and allow every player to fit their own tastes, but still make every piece meaningful and unique. Halo 5 does a good job at allowing players to be unique, but not so much at making every armor special. There’s some stuff that people strive for and know by sight like the Legendaries, Achilles, Shinobi, etc. But most armors mean nothing.

I enjoyed the customization that was in Reach.

If I had the reins for halo 6, I’d do customization like so.

Slots

Helmet
Chest
Shoulders/Biceps
Gauntlets
Codpiece
Legs
Undersuit/Techsuit

Colors
Armor Primary
Armor Secondary
Armor tertiary (equivalent to white lines on some H5 armor sets)
Undersuit Primary
Visor Primary (Inner color)
Visor Secondary (Outer edges)

Misc.
Emblem Location (L/R shoulder, L/R chest, L/R back)
Secondary colors match primary color brightness on all armor (Sometimes in H5 secondary =/= primary even with exact same color chosen.)

I think a combination of halo 5 (sheer numbers) and reach (individual shoulders etc) would be the way forward.

What is up with this “Better luck next time” attitude? It’s so dumb. We should ask for what we want NOW, not wait 3 years for the possibility of getting what we want in a completely separate game. The Halo community needs to stop taking such a passive stance and be more active in forcing 343 to deliver the content we want, because at this point that’s the only way we’ll get what we ask for. To answer the question though, they most certainly should have a customization update to Halo 5. But then again, I would also place this a little further down on the priority list than some of the game’s other, more pressing issues.

Heres what i understand… ok i know more armor is great and halo 5 has the most in armor choices and thats where 343 did a great job, but why in the world with every game they release they restrict WHAT you want to put on.

Thats what i dont understand. Maybe i like this chest peice with those shoulders, or hey why not mix and match those shoulders? Maybe i want these legs intead of those legs…

Thats where 343s customization comes to a screeching halt. Say hey i really like this helmet but i want it to blend with different armor than the set made for it… simply you just cant. its almost impossible for me to use a helmet with a different armor set because it doesnt look right to me… so i feel like im forced to use the armor set that goes with the helmet…
