In Halo we’ve had a collection of different HUD styles and shapes, different for each game. I’ve seen Halo Infinite’s and I think it looks amazing, but imagine if we could customize our HUDs! Color, shape, organization even. Like how the characters in Halo 5 all had different HUDs unique to them.
What would be your ideal setup?
Personally I love the idea that the different armor cores give you different HUD’s.
Eg the reach armor core gives you the reach design hud.
The mark VII gives you the halo 3 style hud. etc, etc
I feel like your armor core will change your layout, and your AI will determine its color. In the trailer when the player chooses that yellow AI and plugs it in the hud changes to yellow.
I have always wanted to see a gameplay impact to helmet choice. Like I pick EVA and I have a big open helmet with higher HS damage. I pick EOD and I have more restricted vision but increased headshot resistance. I know it’s not going to happen for many reasons and think it would likely be horrid if implemented. Nonetheless, I’ve always wanted it.

Maybe for PvE modes? Would be cool to see people put thought into their armors for a gameplay purpose.
I absolutely love the idea, although I am sure there may be some balance concerns or issues with certain designs having competitive advantages that may be something to consider with the implementation. I still support the concept, I am always a big fan of more customizability when possible.
I feel that individual armor cores giving separate huds like possibly the MK V (B) having a hud based off of Halo Reach in artstyle but with a layout like Halo Infinite to prevent clutter. Also, having a color of hud matching your AI sounds cool, unless you like the AI’s voice lines but hate the color, which could be a problem.
