Customise your stance using Xbox one's Kinect

For once I am not making a gameplay related suggestion.

How cool would it be if you could strike a pose in front of your kinect and have that translated into a pose for your Spartan in Halo 5?

And while we’re at it, include stances for every loadout weapon in the game instead of just the AR/Magnum/knife?

Thoughts?

I like the idea, and I for one don’t think it should be taken away or not given to us because there are stinkers who would ruin it with sexualized and otherwise offensive poses.

Maybe the poses could go through an automated, or even manual verification process?

This is a brilliant suggestion! If only 343 industries were as intuitive as their fanbase…

I like this idea.

But I could see the need for sensoring certain poses. I could see alot of people abusing this feature.

Not going to lie I lol’d cause I would probably do that.
But to fix it is simple. You’re hands must be above your waist, and you cannot have only one finger up(must be multiple fingers, limit: 2).

Let’s not pretend this wouldn’t end in pelvic thrusts and questionable hand gestures galore.

Bring on the troll stances=)!

I liked the idea at first, then I remember how many immature boys would just make poses of them ‘acting’ like their d***s are out.

Anonymity kinda ruins the fun when people can get away with it.

Space d### lol=)

I made an identical topic to this a few days ago and as it is here, most people would think it would end up with alot of ‘bad’ stances.

It would be cool but then the kinds of poses…

I have to agree…thats the first thing i thought of when I saw “Custom Stances”. However, its not a bad idea to have custom stances though, yet i fear there will be players out their who want to do that just to draw attention. Then again, I hope it makes it to the next title, b/c I would like to customize my own stance, like 007, lol.

That would crash and burn quickly

To be quite honest i dont think you can make a really bad stance, i mean what are you going to do? Have your hand over your chest? Over your crotch? I mean your spartan is in armor so that’s really the worst you can do. And is it really that bad? I mean we have 5 year old shows that show their butt cheeks (sponge bob to name one) I think we can handle someones hand over a metal piece of armor.

I think we could handle it, after all we are playing a M-rated game with some language and all that. I think that not only could we handle it but most Halo players like myself would probably find it funny.

Knowing me… I’d make my spartan raise both his middle fingers… Love the idea!!!

Lol yes!

I would love that. As for people doing ‘inappropriate’ stances, you just have to take the good with the bad. I mean what if 343 said no forge because people were making naked art or theatre because people were taking ‘inappropriate’ pictures. It would be no where near as bad as say a Black Ops customized logo. And plus its a M game, I mean what do you expect.

I’m all for this idea.

I see people arguing that this could be abused and turn inappropriate, but you have to remember a few things. The rating on the box? Yeah, it’s M for Mature. I think mature players would be able to handle some inappropriate gestures, and the rating on the box is there to inform you that, yes, it will be inappropriate in some cases. I know there’s little kids on Halo as well, but you also have to remember that ESRB states “Online interactions not rated by the ESRB”, which is basically telling players to watch out regardless of their age and maturity levels. It’s always up to the kid’s parent if they want their child playing a mature game anyways.

Where there’s some sketchy gestures, you could always file a report to Microsoft. Or, there can be a mute/'hide’feature specifically for players that make inappropriate stances.

It’s a great idea and it shouldn’t be passed up for a petty reason. The technology is innovative, as are the people behind the technology, so they should be able to figure out a way around.
