Customisation and Minor Problems

Overall I’m happy with Halo 5. Although I felt the campaign was a bit lacklustre, the Multiplayer is coming on leaps and bounds and I’m very excited for the release of Forge next month. However, there are a few minor problems I feel could still be addressed, which I’ll list below.

Customisation-
I feel that it was a backwards step when 343 introduced “Banner Emblems” rather than a fully customisable emblem and selecting different colours (I don’t mean colour schemes). I know plenty of people preferred previous Halo customisation regarding this issue, but I feel limited in selecting this. In short, I’d like my Flaming Viking emblem back.

I also think that armor customisation is a bit lacking, Reach had it right. All of the armour pieces could be selected individually, they all had specific upgrades, and they felt realistic. Although there are many decent designs, one or two do feel a bit too Power Rangers in my opinion.

Gameplay-

The grenades feel like the blast radius has been reduced and the timer has been increased. I don’t know if it is because I’m not used to the grenades yet, but so far they feel weaker than Halo 3 and Halo 4’s. (I’m not counting Reach as most of us are aware that those grenades were OP).

Finally I come to the radar, it’s just too small. No, I’m not a player who relies completely on it, but by the time you see someone on the radar, it feels like preparing is a rush.
E.g. someone camping with a shotgun around a corner.

If anyone has any input, feel free to add to this discussion. I just thought I’d put my thoughts to forums…

Also- does anyone have a specific date for when Forge is being released this December?

I’ve actually heard each and every one of these complaints in separate threads before, except for the emblems. I’ll give you my opinions in the order you gave the prompts.

I think the customization is alright enough. I don’t think it was too much of an issue that I couldn’t mix and match my shoulders and whatnot. I really feel for you on the whole emblem debacle. Only having calling cards and really odd color schemes to choose from seems a little off to me, a little bit of a step in the wrong direction.

I love the grenades in this game, I’m pretty sure they’re good enough with how much they’re spammed. If they were any bigger, the whole game would be Grenado 5.
The radar is small, but I like it because it makes you stare more at what matters, the game. I used to play the other games by looking at the radar, but it’s more immersive to look more at the view than the little circle in the bottom. You just have to be cautious around the corners.
