How does everyone feel about this? I think it would be a great idea. It would give all of the armor unlocks that much more meaning, especially for those who don’t particularly enjoy multiplayer (or who cannot find a match). For purists, there is the option to toggle it off in the Pre-game lobby along with the custom weapons skins.
On a side note, on my most recent playthrough of Halo: CE, I noticed that Chief’s visor was the custom color I chose for my multiplayer Spartan, only in Classic graphics though. Not sure if the same happens in any other game (other than reach, obviously). So, it’s either a glitch (a welcome one), or a hint of what is to come. I am hoping for the latter.

100% agree that you should be able to use your custom Spartan in Campaign.

Armor in this game means nothing. Contrary to the literal definition of the word, the “armor” will not serve to protect you at all - it’s all useless. Just ignore it and search whatever playlists you enjoy most
I think it’s an ok idea. from what I understand, the developers were testing the waters a bit with allowing skins in Campaign, so it might not be too far off.
still, it’s one of those features I wouldn’t put ahead of Maps, Weapons, and any missing legacy features remaining; those should always be top priority.

If you play on PC there is a mod that already allows you to do this, and you’re able to see your own Spartan in the cutscenes as well. It would be nice if it was an official thing, however.

While you are completely, 100% correct, I think that you are also missing my point.
On a gameplay level, the armor is all cosmetic and serves no function. However, there are those (me included) that enjoy the armor customization aspec of the halo games. The customization has been in the series since the very first game on the orginal Xbox (abet in a very limited form), so it’s not some “useless” thing that has been shoehorned into MCC.
While the armor adds no gameplay benefit, it is still something in the game. An unlockable that allows one to have a physical benchmark of their progress. It enables you to individualize their in-game character in a way to make them different from everyone else. So, while it doesn’t serve a gameplay function, it most certainly is not “useless”.
At the end of the day, it is your personal opinion, and I respect that. But, I believe that writing off the idea of having an option (that you can turn off at will) is a bit daft, don’t you think?

i am against this as it would require them to modify the original single player model witch would destroy the last remnants of the original biped, they already destroyed the 2007 multiplayer biped with the new armor witch is cool but at what cost though
Fair enough. From a preservationist point of view, I can understand that.
I do have one more question, however: What about if you toggle off the customizations in the Pre-game lobby? When turned off, everything appears to be the same as the default game (OG Weapon Skins, and in this case: OG Armor). That way, players who enjoy the customizations can see them, while those like yourself can keep it vanilla.
Or, is the the idea that they would have to modify the Original Biped at all? Like, even if it was in a non-noticable way? Again, I can understand that completely.
There has to be some sort of compromise that both sides of the argument can come to.
its the later the fact that it would be edited at all, that being said maybe the original 360 bipeds should be included in the mod tools.

I saw that you posted a new topic about allowing the OG Bipeds being toggled on. If that was an option, for you to only see the OG Bipeds if toggled, would that be a compromise for preservationalists sake? While also allowing players like myself to use newer Bipeds w/ Campaign customization?
I think this would be cool, but I’m hesitant about allowing the ability to change how you look in the campaigns. Halo ce-4 are all about the chief and arbiter. That aside, it would be a fun addition. I’d love to play ODST as Johnson

100% agree. Master Chief is arguably what defines the Halo games.
But, if you wish to be vanilla, you could toggle off Campaign Customizations, so even if you are playing with someone else, you will see only the default skins/armor.
But, if you are like me, someone who has played every game ad nauseam, you could toggle them on to “mix things up a little.”

Yes, even if it has to be a skull they add, I’d be on board with this

You do realize this would be a toggle right? Classic Master Chief model OR your custom Spartan. I’m all for this so long as it’s a toggle. Can’t write out the Chief.
